    The Complete Bard

I'm playing a bard in a campaign that now runs over 1 year. It's a single classed jack-of-all-trades. Using a rapier (weapon finesse + weapon focus) for melee combat. Lingering song as a feat for the bardic music, some magical item that gives a +1 bonus to the inspire courage bardic music...

Issue with Bards that cast spells

The magical abilities of the bard are subtle, and that is the way it should be. The magic should support high-charisma characters. And they should not be a 'second' wizard or cleric. I have no problem with spell-casting bards, although the Skald listed by S'mon looks very interesting.

Living in a European City for 3 months

I recommend: Amsterdam, if you like a big liberal city. You can make trips to other cities in the Netherlands (like The Hague, Utrecht, Rotterdam) from Amsterdam because they are only 30 minutes from Amsterdam by train. You can also visit the more 'rural' part of the Netherlands, in the east of...

    Ratio of Spending to Gaming

spend: about 150 euros I've played about 90 sessions = 1.67 euro/session. Not that much, but I am a student, and most students don't have that much money.

Bards - The Greatest of All Classes

I just want to tell you that after playing a number of fighter/ranger types I once tried a bard (just for the fun), but that bard lasted about 1.5 years, until the campaign stopped. Now I play a Divine Bard (of the Silver Flame) from Unearthed Arcana in an Eberron campaing. All Bards I played...

    Mac Users Identify Yourselves!

Maybe enworld is not the right place to ask, but I ask it anyway ;) -> I've an old G3 -366 MHz Ibook with 192 megs RAM with a small HD (so no Xcode for me). I consider buying an mac Mini 1.25 GHz with 512 megs RAM. Does XCode have decent code completion for JAVA? Is the Apple JAVA compiler fast...

    What are your favorite weapons?

I usually play bards or rogues or rangers. Weapons I like to use with those characters: rapier (with weapon finesse) or longbow. I usually play characters with a high DEX, so I almost never use longswords or axes.

    Miniatures and Your Character

It doesn't matter if the mini that represents my character does not look like the character. I even played with a Warg mini on a grid while my character actually was a human Bard. I do however like it if the mini fits the character, As we play in the FLGS there are plenty of minis around.

    Art in books

Art is nice, however, it does not really influence my decicions about what to buy. I like good art, but if a book contains only a small number of black and white images and the text is good, (and the text concerns a subject I like) I would buy it.

    Do your PCs have homes?

My PC's never had a 'home' and were always traveling around. In the current Eberron one party member has a home (in Sharn), and we visit it to rest, sleep or to stock items we don't need at the time. The DM however, charches nothing for this home, only standard food costs for the characters.

    DnD 5e: Ready?

They need to fix the Wizard class. I guess they won't fix the Wizard in 4e, but I have some advice concernig the 5th edition. Every Wizard now has to get his spells by buying 'boosterpacks' Those boosterpacks contain random spells that the Wizard might add to his spellbook. Of course every...

    cut scenes

I don't like cut scenes, maybe because I played with a DM who used cutscenes to move the story (and characters) in the direction he wanted it (them) to go.We had no options, could not take actions as things arround us happened, when we could take actions they were severely limited, otherwise the...
