Not sure what the situation is over there, but the way you describe it seems like you have free rein to walk up to the BBEG and have free access to them. A BBEG should always have a screen of minions to prevent a rush, it might not prevent you from getting to them but more bodies in front does...

Happy anniversary! I've been around since its early years, and I'm very proud of how far this place has come. Though I don't comment much here anymore, I still check the content every single day and look forward to seeing what new delights this place will bring!

Honestly, one of my group's most ignored rules was the multiclassing XP penalty. A level 1/1/1/1/1 cleric/wizard/bard/sorcerer/rogue (just an example, not anything actually viable) was nowhere near the power of any other Lvl 5 character, and having an XP penalty on top of that was ludicrous...

And the load times. Good lord, the load times! But it was worth every moment waiting in order to play them. Pop in a disk, go get a snack while the game loads up, play for hours.

I remember the good old days when vinyl maps were included in the boxed sets. Still have the old Greyhawk map, which I carefully take out from time to time.
