Paizo How to Get Started with Pathfinder

FWIW, I have the Remastered Beginner Box. Most of the changes were cosmetic in nature, but the pre-gen PC sheets are all remastered-compatible now. Note that the PF2 Beginner Box has always used a slightly "lite" version of the PF2 rules, so a few character options are simplified.

Pathfinder 2E Never give up on PF2

Often times, it's a slower process than that. I've been playing with a group of players here in central France for over 15 years, and it's always been a chore to find new players. COVID drove us online, and we continued with our group, but little by little we lost a player or two, then three and...

Pathfinder 2E One-shots and short adventures.

I can confirm that it's fairly easy to adapt PFS adventures (or any adventures) to a homebrew setting. Change a few place names, invent any secret societies you may need, and Bob's your uncle. I'm currently doing just that, in fact. You can also find some 3pp adventures for PF2 on sites like...

Pathfinder 2E Never give up on PF2

That's interesting. We were playing DD3.5 and switched to PF1 around the time DD4 came out. It felt too "videogamey" to us, and PF1 was just DD3.5 with a few corrections and additional content. But I quickly tired with how PF1 (and DD3.5) had such a huge gulf between casually-built PCs and...

Pathfinder 2E Never give up on PF2

And then there are a few of us who have been running regular PF2 games since its inception (monthly prior to COVID, and mostly weekly since we began playing on VTT) and feel compelled to contradict the naysayers whenever we log in and see negative nancy threads dominating the place. Last...

    Paizo Finding a class

Question is, are you playing PF1 or PF2? Because the link you posted is to PF1 content. You need to know that they are not the same game at all, even if they share a lot, conceptually. Secondly, it's not at all clear how to translate character traits like "dark personality" and "goofly, fun &...

Pathfinder 2E Never give up on PF2

Why? Don't you trust your DM? PF2 has two different sets of skill DCs. As others have said, for each skill there is a list of example skill DCs based on various tasks. Some Skill DCs are fixed, like needing a 15 to Treat Wounds. Other skill DCs are tied to level - the level of an item, the...

Pathfinder 2E The Tower of the Tyrant (PF2)

Here's a few pics. I use photos from the gaming table as artwork in my adventures, with the kind permission of the manufacturers of those figures.

Pathfinder 2E Never give up on PF2

Hard disagree. I have done fights with over a dozen adversaries, no problems. And at the tabletop, no less. I use a simple tracking sheet, and copy a few numbers to that sheet for adversaries (the bottom part). What I hear is that you don't like tracking adversaries and their abilities...

Pathfinder 2E Never give up on PF2

It's true, DD5e has fewer action types than DD3.5 or PF1 did (a ridiculous amount of action types) but the nature of "bonus actions" seems arbitrary at best, at least seen from the outside looking in. Note that PF2 has a large number of "action compression" feats, things like a monk doing a...

Pathfinder 2E Never give up on PF2

The important thing isn't whether you have one, three or four actions per round. It's reducing the incomprehensible variety of action types that we saw in DD3.5, PF1 and (some might argue) DD5e. I haven't tried dc20, so I'd be keen on hearing more about it.
