(ProBoards) Gideon City - Superhero open RP

WELCOME TO GIDEON CITY May 10, 2009 a Encore Pharmaceuticals plant in Medina, VA, exploded, destroying the small town and killing well over half of the population. Only 172 citizens survived the explosion, those citizens however developed extraordinary powers. In an attempt to cover up a secret...

#53 Agent Variant Rogue Keeps Sneak Attack, Uncanny Dodge, Trapfinding, Evasion. Gains Informants; 1 at 1st level, +1 at 3rd level and every 3 levels after. Each informant must be placed in a location, and adds +6 to Gather Info. if the Agent can contact them. The bonuses stack (but the DM...

101 Quick-n-Dirty Variant Classes (see post #1 for list!)

#52? Cultist Variant Cleric Must be Evil alignment. Adds Bluff, Disguise, Gather Info., Hide, Intimidate, and Sense Motive to Class skills. Loses Domains, but gains Undetectable Alignment at first level, and every 3rd level can add +10 to one Gather Information check to learn a secret (about...

having a problem with aligment... Can anyone help??

I've actually written a (slightly over-powered) Cultist class for a campaign world that has Undetectable Alignment as a class ability. My suggestion would be to allow Undetectable Alignment as an actual feat, or just hand it out as a magic item. It's only a level 1 Bard spell. Level 2 for...

having a problem with aligment... Can anyone help??

Exactly. Just flicking it on and off just lets the Paladin know that yes, there might be something evil around here... somewhere... It works like the spell; 60ft. cone infront of you. 1 Standard action to cast, and Concentration (as Psimancer has said) each round to keep it going. First round...

Still No classes, but now it is by creature type

So to keep up with a standard Barbarian, you are spending 4 feats every level. You'll also need extras to get Rage, Uncanny Dodge, and other standard Barbarian abilities. Plus extras for the normal feats that standard characters get every 3rd level. That's a bare minimum of five or six feats...

    Now they buy pigs

Isn't that half the fun? I'd be thinking about the Four Barnyard Animals of the Apocalypse, myself. There are plenty of handy templates for just such an occasion. Could even bring on the race of Tauric Pigs!

    Tattoo Magic

There are other RPGs that use Runic magic. Well, I personally know of at least one (Cursed Empires). The way that one goes is that a spellcaster knows a selection of Runes, and they are able to mix and match each rune to create a total effect. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't... wrong...

    Tattoo Magic

Makes you wonder where they scribed the Fireball tattoo... Or the strange movements under the Wizard's sheets at night... "I'm scribing a tattoo, honest!"

    Tattoo Magic

I've always loved this whole idea, too. It opens up runic magic, too. That arcane glyph on the cultist's rug is actualy one of the symbols of power for a powerful spell. Find three more, and you might be able to decipher it and create a new spell. Or a Fighter from putting tattoos on his body...

    Character Generation Questionnaire

Version 0.5 - How it Works Obviously, until i finish it, the results are given next to the actual questions, so everyone can see how it works. You give that answer, you get that result. The finished product will actually randomise all the questions, and have a quick-tally sheet for the DM, who...

    Character Generation Questionnaire

Version 0.5 Not finished. Need more questions to cover each Skill at least once. 1) Who is your favourite character from Star Wars? A. Darth Vader. B. (Good) Luke Skywalker. C. (Neutral) Chewbacca. D. (Evil) JarJar Binks. 2) What would you consider the greatest book of all time? A. (Good)...

    Wanted: Fast d20 combat rules

If all else fails, just roshambo for it. And yes it was tried once... but only once. The DM went first and won. Seriously, though, I'm fairly happy with the way combat works now, though for a new campaign we've tried dumbing it down a bit. Not much, and you still have to use hp and have a...

    Now they buy pigs

Guys, seriously, too much thought from those pig-farming folk. Forget the technicalities of herding the butt-ugly animals through the dungeons. Two words will solve all the problems about herding pigs through dungeons; POLYMORPH OTHER That should leave any DM with many nasty thoughts for pig...

    Character Generation Questionnaire

Ah, sweet. Most tables from the sourcebooks seem to be background. Which is good in a way. Means I can ignore all that stuff, and aren't doubling up on anything :] Cheers guys. Keep pointing out more books for me to check - I'm far too lazy to go through them all myself ;)
