They are utterly different animals, so it depends on what you want from your game. The LBB are terse, open-ended guidelines put together for a group of hobbyists who already enjoyed crafting their own worlds, rules, scenarios, etc. The "rules" were broad suggestions to get the juices flowing...

For my part, I moved 1400 miles away from my group and I play an older edition, so it's not always easy to find new players. I thought I would be relegated to PBEM or PBP, which I'm sure can be done fantastically well, but which I've always found in my own experience to move at a glacial pace...

It's been mentioned several times in this thread that level limits for demi-humans make little sense because it's illogical to think that a being that lives for hundreds or thousands of years wouldn't acquire high levels. A sincere question: do those of you who have no level limits actually...
