    D&D 3E/3.5 Top 20 most broken character builds 3.5

There are no problem builds. There are problem players. Let your players know that the game is supposed to be fun for everyone, and, if you are playing a relatively serious game, not be *too broken. Then, ban players who cannot even keep those two simple house rules. Or, in short: If your...

    Terminal ballistics and armour-shattering arrows

Would anyone happen to know the answers to the following questions, with regards to collisions between projectiles (ex: arrows) and armour (ex: plate cuirasses)? I have, at this point, been able to determine that heavier, slower projectiles do less damage, but have an "armour piercing" effect...

Your PCs are in a dank, dark sewer, dimly illuminated be street gates and a single light spell, when three large rats come charging out of the muck. What do they see? ...Well... Photobucket link for reference and credits...

Release Star Trek Adventures: Core Rulebook Released in PDF!

A brief, fictive account of something I hope the game manages to avoid: "I am uncertain as to how this game may proceed, Captain." "Bah! Just go with your gut instinct, Captain!" "I am unsure what my digestive track may have to do with my decision-making process." "Ship coming up on...

Kickstarter Dungeon Grappling Kickstarter is now live!

Thank you for that clear and well-written answer. It is not what I was hoping for, but it is well explained.

Kickstarter Dungeon Grappling Kickstarter is now live!

Any chance of getting that in POD? It could make a good display book. In addition, more options generally means more sales. Purchasing it is on my to-do list.

Kickstarter Dungeon Grappling Kickstarter is now live!

I have had some time to run a few test combats using 3.5e with the Dungeon Grappling rules using a Barbarian 2/Rogue 2/Fighter 2 who may be called "Nonac", with Improved Grappling and Improved Unarmed Strike, against a Wyrvern, and twice against an Ape. There was a learning curve, but a short...

Make sure to include the perfectly normal, genial, and helpful old man with good intentions and a lot of sage, sound advice. I have included a relevant image from the internet for a visual aid:

    D&D 3E/3.5 High-level 3.5e Adventures

Practice your evil grin. Roll dice randomly behind the screen. Make notes at random times. If the dice rolls say a PC dies, they die. Have quest-givers lie, cheat, steal, or be misinformed - But only sometimes. Have most play straight, but not necessarily have the whole story, and/or have...

OD&D OD&D Now In PDF on DnDClassics

The game is specifically and explicitly made to be modified and expanded. It does, indeed, say so in the rules; validating some things I have seen old-school gamers say. Happily, either adding weapon size modifiers to # of attacks, or damage, is an addition that would take about five minutes. :)

    D&D 3E/3.5 First encounter with a 3.5E Beholder as a player

The anti-magic field is in a 90 degree cone in front of the beholder. The other three quadrants remain open to attack.

    D&D 3E/3.5 First encounter with a 3.5E Beholder as a player

Give them minions and all of those problems are solved. With 3e, or 3.5e, no "boss" monster should ever fight solo unless at least two levels above the party, minimum. And, of course, classed boss NPCs can give too-powerful equipment to the PCs.
