Just ran my 4th session of Shadowdark (a modification of Citadel of the Scarlet Minotaur) and my players and I have enjoyed it more each time. Wanted to thank the contributors to this and other threads for the advice and encouragement. Next stop: carousing in the City of Masks!

Just want to second this recommendation. Playable gargoyles (and medusae and harpies for those that are interested). Also lots of good gargoyle lore that doesn't have to be setting-specific.

Finally got my die-hard "D&D or nuthin'!" group to try both Shadowdark and Daggerheart and they (surprise!) really liked both. Now SD is something we bust out when not everyone is available for the "primary" D&D campaign and it has worked really well.
