So you want to support a company with a pretty consistent design & development staff and a game system (cal it "edition") with a 8-10 year life-cycle? Seems like Paizo may be fitting that criteria pretty well.

As a playable game it is no more borked than OD&D, AD&D, 3.X, etc. If the game is fun for you then keep playing it. :)
