Did your players receive full health and spent spell slots back when levelling this way especially if during a dungeon crawl? Or did they gain increased maximum health, keeping their current hp and same for spell slots?
Am i correct in assuming its just the combat aspect in these older adventures that need updating to 5e? You could run the story as is and eyeball any combat encounters on the fly?
Is this something they do with each edition like how they did lost mines of phandelver for 5e?
Im curious if this is the case as i consider lmop to be a great story and introduction to dnd but you can only run it so many times. If this is not the case are there any other older edition starter...
Either way ditching your sheild in combat after doing one combo feels and looks strange to me. Although a swashbuckler running into a crowd to grab one unlucky guy and dashing out to set up that solo sneak attack feature would be hilarious.

If he is indeed dropping his shield after he uses an action to take it off then he isnt attacking until round three so why even bother taking two feats when he can attack in round three without the sheild and 2 feats anyway.

I dont understand how the attack routine goes if you decide to roll as rogue with moderately armoured feat at lvl 1.
How are you generating sneak attack with unarmed strike? If you have a free hand with the...
