    pc classes as enemies

I'm running a 'duel' like thing, and the thing I realized is that players could probably kill themselves really fast - that is, PC characters do too much damage for their relative HP. So I've come up with a way that the characters have more HP for the fight. This obviously won't work for all...

Question on Repulsion Armor from Adventurer's Vault

It doesn't protect you from charges, since the push is an immediate REACTION, and a charge is a single standard action, not two separate actions. They get their charge off (move and attack), then are pushed back and their turn ends - they can't move forward afterwards. At least, that's my...

    Stealth Rules Question

First the relevant rules quotes: What the question is - if a rogue is hidden from an enemy behind cover, and moves out of cover to attack an enemy (in the turn) does the rogue have CA vs the enemy for being hidden? Does him moving out from cover count as the action, so he doesn't have CA when...

    Combat Challenge and Oppurtunity Attacks

Yes, and while that seems somewhat overpowered, remember that Combat Challenge (the immediate intterupt on hitting someone else) is an immediate action - that is, he can only take one of those per full combat round, whereas an opportunity action can be taken once per each turn (on my turn, then...

Trying to make balanced but cool item

The character is, in fact, a ranger - the swords are definitely intended for characters that use two weapon fighting specifically.

Trying to make balanced but cool item

If you lay out as situations - you have these situations: Balance (just after extended rest): Each sword is a +1 Magic Rapier (+1 attack, +1 damage, +1d6 on crit) After one kill (and yes, non-minion): Mainhand sword: +2 (+2 attack, +2 damage, +2d6 on crit) Offhand sword: +0 (+0 attack, +0...

Trying to make balanced but cool item

So as part of the campaign I'm writing, one of the characters is picking up a pair of magical rapiers - I want them to be cool, since they tie into his story very tightly, but not overpowered. Here's the basic design I'm trying, and I'd like other DM's opinions on what may be too much. In...

    Marking and multiple attacks

I agree - even if you call Hydra Fury or Weapon Dance an attack, it very explicitly says that the monsters then makes additional specific attacks: As for Icy Rays, it is very specific that the attack targets one or two targets, which may or may not include the defender.

    Marking and multiple attacks

Hydra Fury, in this case, seems to be an action which allows him to make 4 attacks as part of his standard action - it's not an attack itself with 4 targets (one of which could include the defender). My read on it is - if the marked creature can choose to not target the defender with an attack...

    Crits and Sneak Attack/Quarry Dice..?

Sorry if this has been asked before or is clear somewhere, but we had a disagreement at the table - do sneak attack/quarry dice get maxed out on a crit as well?
