    D&D 5E Equipment posted~ pics

That's not a hard and fast rule by any means, though: Dictionary.com: 28. to project (a bullet or the like) by or as if by discharging from a gun. 30. to hurl; throw: to fire a stone through a window. 39. to hurl a projectile. 45a to discharge (as weapons, ammunition, etc.) Wiktionary...

    D&D 5E Just a reality check.

Well..... There ya go! You just answered your own question. Or I'm roleplaying a guy who is a cheapskate. Or a guy who's saving money to buy something else. Or a guy with metal-phobia. Or a guy who just friggin' loves leather. There's really a million options here.

    D&D 5E Just a reality check.

Well, some people (like you, I guess) want a game with perfect mathematical balance, and prefer to "roll-play." Other people (like me) would rather "role-play." I don't care if studded armor is 1pt better, or if a maul is better than everything else. If I want to play a fighter with leather...

I was just thinking that.... Paraxis' complaints are what I see as positives. And I just disagree with the armor and weapon charts being crap.

I've been getting the exact opposite impression. People seem to really like what they've seen so far. Even a lot of diehard grognards are at worst indifferent to 5e. But generally it seems like 5e is getting great reception.

D&D 5E Are we banking too much on the DMG?

I kinda wish that on the very first page they say something like, "If you don't see something in here, then make up your own damn rule. This game is about imagination, so try using it for once instead of complaining about what is or isn't in some rulebook."

    D&D 5E ... and we have a wizard!

So cramped and cluttered and wordy!! But I realize that this is just a pre-gen. Still, can't wait to get the blank character sheets so I can trim the fat.

    D&D 5E My Hope for D&D 5/N

That's how I've always played D&D. I never understood this concept of perfect balance in a game. When people try to play that way it feels like they're missing the whole point of the game, which is to have fun. I mean, I guess if they actually have fun making everything mathematically...

D&D 5E Dungeons and Dragons at Origins

Healing potions by the "bucketload" and "automatic" clerics are both the DM's call. Despite what I implied earlier, now that I think about it, I've never run or been in a game where either of those things existed. I usually only have such clerics in very large cities in my games (and they cost...

D&D 5E Dungeons and Dragons at Origins

I never understood this train of thought.... I don't know how many games I've played in that didn't have a cleric or anyone with healing powers. We always just carried healing potions, or simply ran away from the fight if we started getting trounced. Worst case scenario, someone dies and you...
