    Making daily powers semi-reliable

That is a good point actually, although the player would have to balance "do I want to take the miss result now with the effect" Vs "do I think we have something else that will help us instead?" I certainly see your point - though I'm sure my group would see it as a feat. differences in style...

    Making daily powers semi-reliable

why so? just curious, seems like it would work well... unless it falls under the 'feat so good everyone would take it' clause.

    Making daily powers semi-reliable

How about this: Feat: refocused power "If during an encounter you do no damage with a daily attack power, and choose not to get the effect of that daily power, you regain the use of your daily after a short rest."

    Mundane Equipment

I second this suggestion. No matter the edition, this book is a perfect supplement.

    sliding rules

positioning strike (enc, rogue 1) You slide the target a number of squares equal to your Charisma modifier. Trick strike (daily, rogue 1) - Until the end of the encounter, each time you hit the target you slide it 1 square. you trick strike an opponent, then use your pos. strike and hit...

    Some questions about flaming sphere

our group has ruled this power as a 'bowling ball' - it rolls on the ground, and if it goes above a hole it would fall (which the wizard did to the surprise of the goblin which jumped down the hole to escape...) giving it the ability to float really unbalances the spell, especially for a first...

    Combat Tier

looks more like a pain - we just use our clear dice containers and put a die next to the fig to signify the height in squares.

    Disease tracks and treatment

I fully agree with this assessment - here is my question. Bob is sick. Brian is sick. Joe has the heal skill. Can Joe watch over both Bob and Brian? is this a point of 4e where it is DM's ruling as to how many people Joe can watch over during an extended rest?

    boots in the Adventurer's Vault

I can see how you might interpret that, but for me unless a teleportation action states 'do not need line of sight' I would have trouble overruling the teleportation rules on PH 286. "as long as a path along the ground exists..." is that a 'specific' rule that overrules the general rule?

    boots in the Adventurer's Vault

yeah, that is them - handy indeed, but at 19th level / 105k gold, whoa :) actually missed that you get +1 reflex as well... :)

    boots in the Adventurer's Vault

right, we talked about that, but assuming you aren't in combat that is easily solved, and if you are, it wouldn't be too tough... it just doesn't seem to fit to me. Then again we also saw an item in there (don't remember where) that was a higher level item which let you 'shift if you are in...

    boots in the Adventurer's Vault

I got it the other day and have loved it - they really went outside the box on magic items. we flipped through it a number of times and love most of the items, however we were confused by this: how can these / why are these two be the same level? One teleports 5 with restrictions, other...

    D&D 4E 4e rule question - extended rest & HP's

agreed - it was no different in 3.x, just a lot more bookkeeping, spells, and gold pieces for the wands. 4th edition prevents the 'the party wakes up, the cleric casts all of his healing spells, the party goes back to sleep.'

    Yet another "4.0 impressions" thread

What struck me about this comment - I teach middle school and actually have a DnD club at my school - when I showed the students the new 4e books, two of the female students came up to me and were very excited that the girls were actually clothed. One talked about how it was troubling being in...
