What character(s) do you want to play?

A friend of mine is going to be running some delves over a barbecue in a couple of weeks. Since minotaurs have the option of having +2 Str/Wis, I was considering the idea of making an Insightful Warlord out of one... ...if for no other reason than to have an Inspiring Moo.

    Can we eat that?

Depending on your campaign, a silver dragon is nonetheless a dragon, and might have no compunctions about eating you if you wronged it sufficiently. And many cultures might not have the sophisticated knowledge of dragonkind we do as players to differentiate between metallic and chromatic...

Is a creature still a creature when it's dead?

Seems to me that pretty much falls under the 'bag of rats' rule. The subject would need to be a a real risk as an enemy, a help as a friend, or otherwise a factor in the combat--I wouldn't let someone say, "I teleport next to a cockroach on that wall".

Why are there no sneaky leaders?

The Commando Captain paragon path in Martial Power has 'Camouflaging Command'. That gives everyone you grant movement to with a power concealment until the end of your next turn. That would let them make stealth checks. That and other powers granted by the path seem to favor a leading a...

Does your ranger use a crossbow?

Ripping off rapid fire shots from a crossbow doesn't seem all that out of the ordinary--to anyone who watches enough anime. ;)

    Mark of Healing

I'm not sure, would that be the case? The Player's Guide (using House Lyrandar as an example) says your mark "is a direct manifestation of the Prophecy and has nothing to do with the bloodline of the house" and they simply "would not claim you." I don't have the campaign guide, which might say...

How do you errata your hard copies?

I have not done this, but I would-- I saw a post a ways back where someone would put a sticky note on a page where there was errata, so you know to check your errata pages for it, similar to the highlighter idea above.

What class for a "smart warrior"?

All of the above. Fighters already benefit from a high Wisdom, as well as Rangers. Tactical Warlords benefit from having a high Intelligence--in some cases, even if it's higher then their Strength. Avengers rely on Wisdom as a primary stat, and have builds that benefit from Dexterity and...

    Upgrading Magic Items

Actually, I think what might be the 'obvious' route would be that cost is equal to the cost of the new item minus the vendor/disenchantment cost of the old one. Allowing the full cost of the old weapon, instead of 1/5 of the cost, is a good bone to throw to players, but I can see how some DMs...

Is A Thrown Weapon Ever a Ranged Weapon?

Thought I'd point out, that they seem to have made a special exception for artificers. Eberron Player's Guide, p46 "Some artificer powers use a ranged weapon. When an artificer makes an attack using a thrown weapon, that weapon returns to the artificer as if it were magical, even if it is not."

    instant death effects

Actually, this thread did die, and has extended it's lifetime by unnatural means. That is what could be called thread necromancy.

Gnome Warlord (re: Modern Major Gen-eral)

Hardcore advice I may be shy on, but if you're promoting both Int and Cha, the Resourceful Presence may be useful to you, as it uses both of those stats. Str is a must, since for your abilities to help your allies, they usually have to hit. While you might be tempted to keep Int and Cha even...

    Combat Superiority Question

The Opportunity Attack is an Immediate Interrupt, and happens before the action that triggers it. The enemy attempts to leave the square, triggering the OA. It hits, ending the movement before it could be completed, and thus the enemy is still in the square it was attempting to leave.

How does one play a beastmaster Ranger?

I played a BM ranger* in a one-off delve, and I'd like to repeat something someone mentioned above--Martial Power introduced many ranger melee abilities that don't require you to be wielding two melee weapons. I can't calculate how it stacks up with Twin Strike, but using some multi-[W]...

Movement vs. Entering - Interesting CustServ Response

On another related matter, the language on Polearm Gamble uses the phrase, 'When a non-adjacent enemy enters a square adjacent to you...'. That ruling would imply that forced movement works in this instance as well. Sheesh, WotC is going to have to come up with a whole 4E legal dictionary...
