I started playing RPGs (the real ones with paper and dice... not the online video games) in 1984 with a D&D red box. Since then, I have played Paranoia (the original 80's edition), Star Wars, SpyCraft, Top Secret, GURPS, Twilight 2000, Pathfinder, Shadowrun, Coretex, D20 System and AD&D. I grew up playing with a couple of friends and we always had a blast just with the 3 of us. Groups are ok, but you usually end up with 1 or 2 people playing mages who want to take their time during every battle conjuring up minions and spells which makes game play crawl and slows down the action.

I am a roleplayer, first and foremost... meaning that I am not seeking a hack-n-slash group of gamers who only want to get together to play encounters. If you must do battle with miniatures on a grid map with dice every single time you play and never actually roleplay... then you're just playing a boardgame.

I'm all about the story and character interaction in a campaign setting. The encounters are icing on the cake.
