    Fantasy Flight Games Discontinuing RPGs?

I predict Fandom will pick up the license and do a Star Wars RPG using the Cortex RPG system they recently acquired. They would include D&D Beyond-style digital support with DRM content. I also predict it will be awesome!

D&D 5E Adventures in Middle Earth magic - does it work?

I have the One Ring; never found players willing to learn a completely new set of mechanics. Now that I'm using AiME, it's been easy to get players. Nothing against TOR, its just that new systems are often an inhibitor to adoption.

D&D 5E Adventures in Middle Earth magic - does it work?

I just posted an in depth blog post on this topic: http://dicehaven.com/middle-earth/things-learned/ TLDR version: I love Adventures in Middle-earth but it does require a different approach to structuring game sessions and play. Very satisfying though!

D&D comes to Middle Earth (from Cubicle 7)

I'm guessing Cuble 7 will reskin a lot of their The One Ring material and have the adventures be set between The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings (roughly Third Age 2941-3018). However, there's lots of other timelines in which to adventure. My favorite is the Third Age 1300-1974 era, over a...

There's A New Online Gaming Store In Town

As to inventory and not having a lot of hard copies yet, they just opened today and many (all?) of the vendors have not had time to ship them physical products and get them up for sale. In a month or two they should have plenty of physical merchandise for sale. In a sense, TableTopLibrary is...

There's A New Online Gaming Store In Town

Here's my $0.02 what makes TableTopLibrary.com different. OBS/DriveThruRPG is a great aggregator for PDFs and POD products, but they don't offer non-POD options (for example, no box sets, no big posters, no old-school modules with detachable covers, etc.). Amazon is a great aggregator for...

Is There A New STAR TREK RPG Coming?

If GF9 does a card game, then could be that Margaret Weis productions would be a strong contender to license a Star Trek RPG (see for example Firefly RPG and other licensed properties they've done). If so, they'd no doubt do a Cortex Plus version of the game. Fate or WEG/d6 would also be great...

What's an OGL? An SRD? What's OGC? A Quick Primer!

Just so you know, I'm releasing the Dungeonesque game (a SRD5 game, see http://www.enworld.org/forum/content.php?3149-Dungeonesque-Is-5E-s-Pathfinder-Already-Here#.VphRGZMrKuo) and I'll have at some point a compatibility license similar to Pathfinder or Savage Worlds, with the logo and such you...

Dungeonesque: Is 5E's 'Pathfinder' Already Here?

Thanks Koren! Yes, there is a PDF only option on the Indiegogo campaign, plus it's a 'hackable' PDF that you can print at your local printer or Lulu.com, change the cover to that of your own making, etc.

Dungeonesque: Is 5E's 'Pathfinder' Already Here?

Hey folks! Frank Mentzer (the original Red Box author) contacted me and said he's lending his public support to this product. I'll work hard to try to make this product have the quality it deserves, though given how great the original was, that's a tall order!

D&D 5E [Rogue Comet] Dungeonesque: World of Redmark (5e Adventures & Maps)

Hey folks! Just wanted to let you know about an exciting new Kickstarter for 5e! Check it out at https://goo.gl/JEywgf. We know GMs are usually busy folks, so these products are low-prep, high-octane, one-sheet adventures for Fifth Edition fantasy roleplaying sessions. Also part of the...

Comparing WotC's D&D Conversion Guides With Fan Created Alternatives

Folks also might want to check out the original thread for this on Google+: https://plus.google.com/u/0/+StanShinn/posts/ex1YqrjACuU One thing I said there was "...I think what you're meaning is what the WOTC conversion doc said with regard to 1e encounters having more creatures typically than...

Comparing WotC's D&D Conversion Guides With Fan Created Alternatives

Ah! I did have a math error in my To Hit calculations (was using HD/2 - 2, instead of the WOTC way of HD/2 + 2). With that correction, WOTC's method of To Hit was off by -34% instead of -122% (vs. -3% using my table method). As to other possible miscalculations due to not accounting for multiple...

Comparing WotC's D&D Conversion Guides With Fan Created Alternatives

Love these great comments! I'm the author of the alternative 1e to 5e conversion method in this post. One thing to consider about the 1e modules -- the idea of a balanced encounter was not much like it sometimes is today. Sure, there is a 'For levels 3-5' guideline, but on any given encounter...
