OGL monsters just won't be published or mentioned again. They are still usable and will be available on Archives of Nethys under the OGL as they exist now. They aren't going to make Bearowls or Oxidation Beasts, but Owlbears and Rust Monsters will still have stats...
They still have spell schools, they are just more versatile than the D&D schools. Sin Magic is going to need to show up in a fresh supplement, though if needed it would be easy to throw together. Any spell that fits the theme of the school can be added to the special list.

Yeah, they are pulling away from the OGL and D&D in general, so a lot of things are going out the door, or exist by legacy in previous printed material.

My only problem with race in D&D is that in game it cludges together education and culture with biology. I'm aware of other problems, but that is what always bugged me.

I read it like that as well. You get a permanent +1 to those checks the first time you are revived in that way. If you are revived in that way again it doesn't improve to +2.
I never pictured a black dragon's acid breath as puking up a stream of sizzling, dissolving glop, but.... damnit now I can't see anything else. It is marvelously gross and distressing and I love it.
