    D&D 5E Treantmonk's Guide to Wizards 5e

Well I wanted to know, specifically in the context of this guide.

    D&D 5E Treantmonk's Guide to Wizards 5e

So given the choice of Firebolt, Minor Illusion, and for the sake of this thought experiment, Vicious Mockery: Which cantrip should you use and when? As a reminder, disadvantage will generally be the difference between a hit and a miss, approximately 25% of the time. Minor Illusion is...

Will I be able to hit anything at higher levels?

With defense scaling, the dearth of attack bonus-granting feats, no magic weapon bonuses, and +8 or +9 defense from armor, can I expect hit chances to drop as characters level up? Should a character with low BAB progression even try to bother with combat, or will they just be left in the dust?

    D&D 5E Treantmonk's Guide to Wizards 5e

One cool thing you can do with Malleable Illusions, is cast Major Illusion once, and then change it over and over again to suit whatever you want. As you level up, you can make Major Illusion last longer and longer, eventually becoming permanent, at which point you can just have it follow you...

D&D 5E [GUIDE] Arrive on Time - A General Guide to Wizardry

It's actually not easier to hit. 14 AC is as easy to hit as a +0 save. 15 AC corresponds to a +1 save, but the hydra has +5. That means it's 4 points easier to hit the hydra's AC than its CON save, or more if you have a Wand of the War Mage. This is kind of my point. CON saves are harder to...

D&D 5E [GUIDE] Arrive on Time - A General Guide to Wizardry

Is Frostbite really blue? Sure the damage and disadvantage is a great effect for a cantrip, but at the same time it targets CON, which is generally the worst save to target. It also only applies to one attack, so as you level up and enemies get more attacks, it'll make less of a difference...

D&D 5E DMG's definition of "Deadly" is much less deadly than mine: Data Aggregation?

Giving one side surprise adjusts the difficulty by one step. Your encounter of 5 shadows was 1,000 xp, which is very nearly at "Hard" already. Bumping it up by one step puts it at the high end of "Difficult" and near "deadly". That sounds about right to me.

    D&D 5E Suggestions for a New PC

Your important spells are Animate Dead, Web, Fog Cloud, and Bless. Animate Dead is obvious, Web locks down melee opponents in a very wide area, allowing you to divide and conquer an encounter. Fog Cloud cast on ranged enemies can force them to move out into the open where your front line can...

    D&D 3E/3.5 Hiring a 3.5 Dragon

So we know that all dragons are very greedy and covetous. That seems to suggest that a metallic dragon might be willing to take on a contract if the price is right and they can verify the target's intentions. What price would you put on a metallic dragon's services?
