R: Coming Around on the "Not D&D" D&D Next Train In the first months of 4e, Dragon mag (back then still just a collection of online articles) had a series about character/class conversion. It was very rough, sure, but at least it was acknowledged in an official source.

Actually, Divine Power has several bits of fluff about the pantheon of the implied setting, hidden in sidebars here and there in the power lists. Things like a list of dead gods, or how the Raven Queen came to power. Nothing stellar, and if you don't care about the implied setting it won't do...

To add to my previous post: There are several (not many) negative comments even on the official 4e "fan" page on Facebook, in spite of the lack of anonimity. I've also heard of strange things happening at a couple small cons around here, like people signing up for 4e games and then refusing to play.

Hit and Run doesn't make you move (like Frenzied Skirmish, for example), it just prevents the OA for moving. The ranger would just attack. ;-)

I'm a DM and I'm running a converted Red hand of Doom; the party started at 8th level and now is 10th. Worst encounter so far: a Solo Fen Hydra, with a slight level adjustment. The hydra in nothing more than a huge HP bucket, with four attacks per round that do little damage and nothing else...

Thank you for the feedback. :) The intent here was to have two possible outcomes, but clearly there's a problem with the wording - if there's any suggestion that doesn't come out too complicated, that'd be great. Re: stunning - what if it's dazed instead?

Hi everyone :-) As a DM, I've always been a thinkerer - I love to make up new material for my homebrew campaigns, and this time it's not different. However, since I'm not 100% sure about my "balancing" capabilities with the new edition, if someone could give my work a look it would be great...

This - actually, Ritual Caster gives you the Knock ritual and a couple other that essentially boost other "situational" skills, so I'd say that given the OP's premises it's quite a solid choice.

I know that this may not be the most useful answer, but as always, it depends on the monsters and the party setup. IME monsters a couple levels lower than the PCs are still credible threats, but this may not always be the case.
