If those were the roles as defined, then it might be a problem. Strikers are supposed to deal out high damage to specific targets while employing a strategy heavily focused on mobility. Defenders are more static, but they deal out high damage to any target they can attack at any time.
As best I can guess, it means that if you want to produce a fantasy product, you tie it into D&D or you use another system. If you want to produce some other genre, you can use the GSL.
When I played at D&D XP, charging provoked attacks from anyone you charged by (Opp. Attacks mainly come from leaving a threatened square) not the target of the charge unless that character had Threatening Reach.
It does seem that WOTC went out of their way to nerf the class. Maybe someone had a really annoying Bladesinger in their 2nd edition group and designed this on purpose. ;)
The problem seems to me to be that there are four required feats that are not very impressive to be frank, cutting spell...
That would be great. :)
So. . . the Races of Faerun Bladesinger is different from the Complete Warrior Bladesinger? Is it 3.0 or 3.5? Sorry for all the questions. There are a lot of sourcebooks it seems. :)
