    The artwork is great.

    role-playing accents, dialects, voices, etc.

Funny voices are a great way to get into character. If you're bad at accents, you can still try mannerisms to make a character distinctive -- like Captain Kirk or the Tick or HAL 9000.

    Monk Preview

The playtest shows the "Centered" Flurry of Blows. I'd assume the other version is more single-targety. (Maybe multi attacks?)

    Monk Preview

A monk is a minion-killer, so extra damage isn't really necessary. Non-minions (the ones who don't explode with one hit) get slid around and, because Flurry is an implement power, whatever effects the monk has enchanted his fists with. The damage is tertiary.

Stop Combining Words in RPGs! - Let English prevail

Likewise, in Dutch they call it "the English Disease" when people needlessly chop up their nice, big, Dutchy compound words. Furthermore, we all have our pet peeves, but nevertheless, we should remember we are probably just being peevish. Does this mean I'm correct when I read the...

"Pet Seminary" OR "Cat o' Tomes" A wizard's (former) familiars rise as vengeful undead, and they've learned a few tricks: spell-casting mostly.

    101 Inspiringly Punny Titles...

This thread is GOLD! Pure gold I say! I used to do this for my M&M game. I wouldn't tell the players the title until the end of the adventure, as their punishm-- err... reward. (Notice I always give two titles, as per the Rocky and Bullwinkle Show.) I'll let you fill in the blanks as to the...

    Sleeping in armor?

Bernal Diaz, in his Conquest of New Spain, talks about sleeping in armor almost continually during the campaign in Mexico. He got so accustomed to it that later in life he had trouble sleeping in real beds, and would often have to sleep on the floor! In Simplicius Simplicissimus (Which is...

    Using Sleep against constructs

Undead could be (effectively) scared in 3x. Turn Undead could make them flee and cower. just sayin'.

What is Expected from an Oriental Game Setting?

Mashing together various sources doesn't bother me- that's very D&D. What does annoy me is the lack of research. I wouldn't play a far-eastern themed game if it was a hodgepodge of only the most obvious tropes and cliches: "There's like kung fu guys and samurais." blech. The East has tons...

Defenders aren't very good at defending?

If a defender's AC is too high, then monsters can't hit him and they turn their attention to more viable targets. Defenders defend the whole party, not just themselves.

    Unorthodox Mages

Splatbooks always come out with tons and tons of dark and spooky spells (blood wind, blade of pain and fear, howling chain, etc.). Like so much, I kinda get sick of all that evilish/warlocky flavor. BUT there are also some random, glittery and colorful spells out there. Spells like Glitterdust...
