    [Recruiting] Playtesters for Technology Ruleset

I'd love to try this as a player. I don't know if I could DM it, time pressures sometimes amp up.

    Spell: Alter Self

Change away. Enjoy the new form, and the modest NA and movement increases. Overall, it's effects are pretty modest, at least in the core rules. Outsiders seem cool for Alter Self, until you realize that you give up at least one caster level for access to those outsider forms.

    Whirlwind Attack vs. Invisiblie

I think it's simpler than that. The feat, by its terms, allows an attack against all opponents w/in reach. End of story. :) Mechancially, I think it just allows the attack. You can flavor text that however you want. Attack on every square would probably be my choice, but there are others...

D&D 3.x Is Sorcerer the weakest 3.5 base class now?

There are three mechanical issues w/ the sorcerer that make it simply inferior to the Wizard. Even assuming that spontaneous casting w/ few spells known is roughly equal to memorized casting w/ lots of spells know, the Sorcerer still suffers wrt the Wizard b/c of: 1. Late spell progression...

How does "Improved Natural Attack" work with a Monk

Coming in late to this debate - but isn't there a different between a natural weapon and a natural attack form? Improved Natural Attack requires a "natural attack form." IMO, this refers to the non-iterative natural weapon attacks that monsters w/o weapons can make, not to a "natural weapon."...

    Whirlwind Attack vs. Invisiblie

Whirlwind lets you take an attack on each opponent w/in reach. AFAIK, that includes invisible opponents, if they're within reach. But they're still invisib1le, so I think there's a 50% miss chance.

CW Bladesinger - am i missing something?

Actually, free actions can incure AoO. Quicken spell specifically says it does not, but Rapid Reload for LIght Crossbow allows you to reload as a free action, but reloading still draws an AoO. Bladesinger is the suck, though. One free quicken - on a low level spell - plus int bonuses for AC...

CW Bladesinger - am i missing something?

Free actions do incur AoO, if the action is a type that provokes an attack. There just don't happen to be any under the core rules. :) Quicken Spell specifically says a spell cast using the feat does not provoke an AoO - the only reason for a sorceror to take it, normally. Bladesinger is a...

    A.D. (after draconomicon)

I'd bet Mind Flayers and Beholders, b/c there's already a lot of 2E flavor text. That way, they can follow the WotC masterplan of re-packaging old material with new crunchy bits and charging full price.

Alsih2o's living the dream . . . My wife not only loves D&D - she started playing computer games! Now I'm never gonna get a chance to start Max Payne 2.

    George RR Martin Legends 2

That was a great little story. Filled in a lot of the problems with the prior kings, too. Now, to reiterate - George, stop with the stories! Pump out the next book already!

Will anyone stand up to George Lucas?

But there's a difference between N*Sync (something that was meant to be, always was, and never will be more than, mediocre), and SW (something that was and could be great). I agree with your general point that the prequels are by no stretch of the imagination D&D, The Movie. On the other hand...

What D&D cliches are you sick of?

I think most of the good cliches are covered. It's not a cliche, but one annoyanceis hearing about somebody's Fighter4/Rogue3/Ranger3/Shadowdancer2/etc. If you really want to play Gurps, can't you just play it?

    Stripping alignment out of D&D

IMO, it's really difficult to lose alignment. Too many mechanics depend on it - the Protection spells are just the tip of the iceberg. For example, there's tons of spells that have [Evil], [Good], etc descriptors - what happens to them? The descriptor is part of the balance. Plus, you need...
