Whatever it is, I hope it's something new, and that it's as much of a departure from the norm as Dark Sun is (though not in the same way.) We've got enough Generic D&D In Funny Hats as it is.

Personally, I would allow it to be negated. There are plenty of instances where they specifically use the phrase "this cannot be reduced in any way", and I think if they meant Touch of Death to work that way, they'd have used that...
I like the idea of allowing solos to save vs. end of turn. I have so far been very disappointed by solos, most of the time they just get locked down and hammered. Dragons especially have been very underwhelming.
