Building a complete list of AL legal FR gods

Is the Raven Queen considered a 5E FR god now?

D&D 5E Whimsy in your game?

That's exactly right. Your "dark, grim and gritty" fantasy setting is not any more realistic than a more light-hearted, whimsical setting.

D&D 5E An Introduction to the Forgotten Realms

Solid write-up as always, Merric. I would add one more deity to the list -- Shar, the goddess of darkness, loneliness, and overall gloom. She's the sister and counterpart to Selune. She may not be widely worshiped by Hillsfar folks, but she's the main deity for the Shade Enclave, which, from...

Whoa! Warner Bros. and Hasbro announce Dungeons & Dragons film franchise

Obviously, the release of a new D&D movie was a matter of time, but this article suggests that D&D is going to be Warner Bros' latest global "tentpole" franchise...meaning they will be investing hundreds of million dollars in the project. So the last bastion of nerditry/geekery is soon going to...

D&D 5E Are you happy with how WOTC's D&D department interacts with the fans (Frequency/ Transparency/Methods)?

Not sure why you believe DnD is an "insignificant" part of Hasbro. Established business publications such as Forbes have reported on the business impact of DND and 5E, but I guess that doesn't count. http://www.forbes.com/sites/davidewalt/2015/04/15/new-dungeons-dragons-fifth-edition/ Also...

D&D 5E Are you happy with how WOTC's D&D department interacts with the fans (Frequency/ Transparency/Methods)?

Jester, I sympathize with you and your desire for more communication from the WoTC guys, but you have to realize that the world is bigger than you (or I). Have you considered that too much public communication may be in fact risky or harmful from the company's perspective? The DnD team is part...

    Who Makes WotC's Adventures?

You're working very hard to minimize WOTC's role in these publications. But whatever man, to each his own. This lengthy thread pretty much encapsulates the spectrum of opinions on the role of WOTC, so there's really nothing much else to say.

Check out the 5E PRIMEVAL THULE Table of Contents!

This looks really good. Really excited about the various "Narratives" -- are they supposed to replace Backgrounds from PHB?

    Who Makes WotC's Adventures?

There's no "fundamental misunderstanding" of the term "outsourcing" on his part. He's taking umbrage with the negative connotation with the term that suggests WoTC simply handed off the project to a third-party and had no real involvement. He just wants to emphasize that the process was very...

    Who Makes WotC's Adventures?

Don't want to get into a battle of semantics, but when I think of the term of "outsourcing," it generally refers to a situation where Company A hires subcontracter B to manufacture a component, based on specs provided by Company A, to be used and incorporated in the final widget produced by...

D&D 5E Maps and lots of them.... where?

Dude, can you be more of jerk? People are trying to help you with links to maps and you're mad that no one is sending you a zip file with thousands of maps? Maybe it's you that should make some effort.

D&D 5E An Introduction to the Forgotten Realms

Great information, like the most of the stuff you post on your site, Merric. Random question re: the policing of Baldur's Gate. Is there any sort of tension between the Flaming Fists and the City Watch that polices the Upper City? Seems like a weird situation...

    D&D 5E Hero Points/Inspiration Mechanic

You raise a good point about Inspiration giving rise to "novas." I can see the smart PCs saving their Inspiration/Hero point or whatever advantage mechanic for the last encounter, leading to multiple advantageous rolls just laying waste to the big boss.

    D&D 5E Hero Points/Inspiration Mechanic

Arioch - You must be throwing some crazy encounters at your PCs. Sounds like you have a good system, but Im wondering whether multiple Inspiration will unfairly skew encounter balance too much in favor of PCs.
