Maybe an overly simplistic suggestion on my part... Try something as simple as doing a search of Audible's German site and see what comes up? (I'm in the US and assuming Audible has a site in German.) You could also check your local public library's catalog. Won't be a comprehensive list in...
Absolutely. Its helped me in the following areas at work, in my home life, and helping to run our local con.
Public speaking
Improvisational speaking
Problem solving/MacGuyvering solutions
How to manage people, both upwards and down
Conflict deescalation/customer service

This isn't exactly what you're asking, but...
Sometimes when I'm in similar situations I will put in a conveniently placed stash of expendable items where the heroes can find it (healing potions, a one use amulet, a wand w/ 2 charges, etc.) Or maybe an NPC drops by with a couple of buffs. This...
I use Library Thing to keep a catalog of all my books. There is a way to designate separate "collections" within all your books so I can classify them by D&D, Pathfinder, RPGs, History, Shannara, Religion, Star Wars, Art Book, etc. etc.
Babylon 5 & Supernatural really stuck the ending well. I'd also argue Star Trek: TNG had a really great final episode, even though it wasn't as story arc driven as other shows.
You hit on a lot of the reasons I also feel like I'm on the way out the door. I still love RPGs, but they've just become... work. And stressful work for a lot of the reasons you outlined.
I'll add to the pile of complications something I've been personally struggling with: The current...
I define adventurers as: People who, for whatever reason, have a vested interest in the adventure. They have some kind of tie to the story events that are happening. They receive some kind of "call" to the adventure and they have a set of skills that can help shape events moving forward. They...
I've used them straight up in Ravenloft games. Everything from actual tarot decks to the in game tarroka to the Harrow Deck from Paizo/Pathfinder.
I haven't used them as a replacement for mechanics personally, but Covens of Midnight and The Hidden Isle keeps being advertised to me on social...
Sounds like you've done a lot of work on it already so why not give it a try anyway? Only speaking for myself here, but in the past its helped me to get past DM's Block by getting content off the page and into the world. Interacting with the players sometimes breathes new enthusiasm into...
haha. Does 5th edition count? (I joke. Just not my cup of tea.)
More seriously...
Spellfire (the card game)
Hero-Builders-Guide-like products that have appear across editions.
Dragonlance Saga rules
Like delericho, I still use a lot of setting and meta story material, specifically Ravenloft and Forgotten Realms.
Also... art. If I need a picture of something for the players, I'll try to find some Cadwell or Elmore or Parkinson.
I like all the ideas above. ESPECIALLY "I you won't come to it, the Mists will come to you" as well as the idea that there is a certain level of dissociation that happens between D&D characters and players. And its worse with experienced players. They've seen soooo much in D&D, film, books...
Haven't seen the movie yet. But anecdotally what I've observed from the biz strategy of Hasbro/Wizards over the last 5 or so years is that D&D seems to be moving from a game to a brand. Its something that can be engaged with casually if you want, but ultimately being sold to me as a product I...
I don't remember a ton about 4e, but it seemed to incorporate tactical movement more meaningfully. I'd like to have the option to do something besides run to the center of the map and wack the opposing party.
Also, like many above, I thought Bloodied and Skill Challenges were interesting. I've...
