Barbarians of Lemuria enter The Tomb

Running Barbarians of Lemuria through the Tomb of Horrors module. Simple as that. Takes guts on the part of the players as ToH has killed more characters than an orc horde. What i hate is DMs with wavering confidence in their ability to run games. These kids .... if I get 4+ players, I'll...

    yeah (Marvel Heroes going away)

good riddance 2 bad rubbish, no? Wasn't fond of the Storygame mechanic. At all. I know many gamers felt as I do. How do you create a game with such a touchy level of gaming? How would you reach young gamers and "Trad" gamers embracing a heavy OSR revival? Who can blame Disney or Marvel? They...

Nights Black Agents - Interest check

Interested. I've run this for my RL group. They didn't like the dynamic of humans vs. vampires, but maybe we can find a few players who do. Introducing a "Cthulhu-like" element without slaying the PCs seems to work best. Horror, without the foul end. I'm in as long as the game makes sense.

    M&M 3e Re-recruitment - (closed)

Withdrawing interest in this thread. add: J'onn J'onzz is gay. Mod Note: EN World has little patience for insults, much less those based on race, gender, or sexual preference. This sort of thing will not be tolerated in discussions on these boards. I believe that's clear enough - if anyone...

wha? So how Reed Richards & Batman whip-up quick devices is absent in your games? Very Anti-Comics. add: You're a comics fan?

    Super Hero rpg: checking interest

all due respect, saying no to "super-science" is adversarial. Comics is heavy super-science & powers. I hate to see players get discouraged because a GM has reservations about a common comics trope. Then, that same GM limits the expression of player powers. You end up playing what the GM wants...

A high-action game. Any setting (modern pref). "With great power comes great responsibility" is a good theme.

Using "Supers", the rpg, should be on the table. Rules-lite fits PbP. Takes a talented GM to run M&M. I know, because I run M&M games on other sites. Takes being able to say "No" in clever language that suggests alternatives, or you lose the Player. Mutants & Masterminds is tricky...

Hard 2 find Supers Gms. Few see the versatility of the genre: you can run Supers in any setting. D&D 4E is just superheroes with swords. Supers allows Sci-Fi, Time Travel, High Fantasy, Cyberpunk, Modern, Gumshoe, Steampunk, ect. Just requires a relentless imagination.

Swapped Enhanced Strength for Move Object. Found this on the WoTC "Character Optimization Board FAQ"; " So how do you tell the difference between cheating and min/maxing? Well, here are some cases: - If the written rules allow for some combination, then it is min/maxing. - If by changing...

I get you on the "only AE". I mis-typed. Hero Lab wouldn't allow me to create a villain that was even 1 pp over. There are several, Strength-based AEs. On the use of Move Object vs. Enhanced Strength. The thing I've noticed about MO is, based on S. Kenson's concept, it doesn't "Grab" like...

Bonecrusher; - story & complications adjusted for alien invasion - dropped Presence 1 rank - right, Enhanced Strength is part of an array, but I've seen a few "Powerhouse" builds that work that way. Strength 12 is his default power, until he switches to another. The cool thing is you can...
