Background: I'm a Software Engineering student at the University of Texas at Dallas. I started playing Dungeons and Dragons 3.5 in 2006 and it has been my preferred system ever since because of all of the crazy things you can do with it. I played 4th edition for a couple of years when it first came out, loving the inherent balance of the system, but felt it had failed to capture the magic that 3.5 created with its diversity of Prestige Classes. I've even DM'd some pre-made adventures with a small group of friends for a while, but never really liked DM'ing as I'm a pretty bad role-player and even worse at having to do so on the fly. I've played AD&D, Mutants and Masterminds, GURPS, Shadowrun, Dark Heresy, Call of Cthulhu, and playtested D&D Next. I've Co-DM'd a Ravenloft campaign and a Call of Cthulhu campaign and absolutely loved being able to map out such large scale and epic plots without having to actually handle the nitty-gritty detail of role-playing the NPCs.
Play-style: I'm a bit of a min-maxer, but never to the degree that I would allow myself to become too overpowered or outclass my allies. I like to play support roles (Favorite Class: Bard), but do them well enough that I can actually contribute to a fight in addition to keeping my teammates going. I'm not an especially serious role-player but if that's the kind of game the DM and other players want, I am willing to give it a try. I'm more the type to joke around do extremely silly things with my characters, but I can play seriously if the group and setting call for it.
