I wouldn't call it a successful product launch. Just because WotC's warehouse ran out of books doesn't mean distributors and stores ran out of books. Simply put distributors over ordered and the books aren't moving. Yeah WotC had to go to a second print run.. but if it was needed... why cancel...

You failed to notice that beta still doesn't have multiclass rules. You failed to actually play the game to realize 15-minute adventuring day is more like 30-45 minutes because of the new options. You failed to mention your problem with high level play? Save or Die is gone. Casting spells...

Which is exactly what they want when you consider they couldn't sell adventures to anyone during 3.0, canceled their adventure line just before 3.5, and by the displeasure of the late 3.5 adventures and H1.. I would speculate will continue to have difficultly selling under 4e.

Jan van Leyden, such software would be a snooze fest if it doesn't have the game mechanics. I and I suspect most people can come up with a pretty looking character sheet of sorts just by typing out character info into MS Word.

Even if they "can" there's another problem, the GSL doesn't allow them to still support OGL.. that's a lot of games that suddenly lose PCGen support. Personally, I don't see what parts of the SRD can even be used to create software... after all the GSL is a license that lets you use the SRD...

They're saying that HeroForge and PCGen can't support 4e, that's what they're saying. Any character gen, free or not, is competition for DDI.

I'm sorry, but a PDF is NOT an eBook. WotC just annoys the hell out of me sometimes. Yes PDFs are awefully handy.

Crothian, everyone is entitled to their opinion, except I don't DM nearly as much as I play and I already have Book of Challenges and Stronghold Builder's Guide. Another traps book isn't going to help me much. :)

Thanks but reviews don't hold much weight with me anymore. This 1 prestige class is the only thing in the book that I'm interested in. If it's indeed good and what I'm looking for I'll get the whole book, if not I'll pass. If a book has content that I want or can use I want to see if for...
