Is There A New STAR TREK RPG Coming?

Haha, brilliant, this popped up while I was posting the exact same thing. Great minds think alike, my friend! :)

Is There A New STAR TREK RPG Coming?

While I do love the LUG Trek RPG, I'm holding out (a fool's) hope that Fantasy Flight swoops in and works out a deal to create a Star Trek RPG styled after their fantastic Star Wars narrative dice RPGs. Narrative dice would be such a perfect fit for Trek, I might just have to homebrew it. I do...

    Remembering STAR TREK Roleplaying Games

Until recently, the longest RPG campaign I'd ever been a part of was a Star Trek: The Next Generation era game. A friend and I co-GMed the game, taking turns running episodes in a format similar to the TV show. We organized our campaign into "seasons" of 15 episodes each, and managed to do three...

    D&D 5E So who is playing 5E?

I just started DMing HotDQ with a group of six players. I think 5E is great. I'm looking forward to playing it for a long time.

Good point. Might be that the ability grows more useful as the party levels up. At lower levels, monsters have so few hit points, there is little need for extra damage. Later on, however, I'll bet almost all monsters are going to be taking multiple hits to kill.

    D&D 5E Ranger

I found this fascinating because I came away with almost exactly the opposite conclusions. I believe Giant Killer is the least-desirable ability because it has multiple conditions that must be met before it can trigger, and the benefit is simply another attack roll which, if it misses, gains...

And the 2014 ENnies Nominees are.....!

Whether or not I or anyone else might disagree with an inclusion or ommission from this list, I think we can all agree that by and large, these are excellent products that deserve praise. Certainly, congratulations are in order to all those talented individuals who worked on these excellent...

    Well, that would do it.

And the 2014 ENnies Nominees are.....!

I feel a great disturbance in the Force, as if one of the finest role-playing game products of 2013 was completely ignored by whoever nominated these games. In all seriousness, where is Edge of the Empire? That's a fantastic RPG with top-notch art and design. It easily belongs in the same...

    D&D 5E Official D&D Basic Discussion Thread

Seriously. If you're the same Abstruse who writes for AICN, I enjoyed reading your review earlier today. I thought it was fair, informative and demonstrated the same enthusiasm that I have for the new edition.

    D&D 5E Official D&D Basic Discussion Thread

Agreed on the first point, but I don't view the situation quite the same way as you describe. I don't personally see the penalty as the result of an enemy intentionally trying to disrupt the caster so much as the caster being under threat from a foe that's already trying to attack him while he...

    D&D 5E Official D&D Basic Discussion Thread

So ranged attacks made with spells and weapons have disadvantage when there's a foe within 5 feet of the attacker who is not incapacitated and who can see the attacker. I don't remember this rule being in the playtest. Did I just miss it? That is kind of huge. It gives characters a way to...

    D&D 5E Official D&D Basic Discussion Thread

Couple of changes I noticed: The Search skill was removed from the game. Also, all classes now seem to have a minimum proficiency bonus of +2, whereas in the final playtest packet, they generally began with a +1. The Hill Dwarf sub-race no longer gains +1 Strength, but instead gains +1...
