    OSR OSRIC Versions?

    Close, VERY close .... :p

    OSR OSRIC Versions?

Thanks for this! I'll ping BB and ask. Yeah. My first name typically gets spelled "Brian" ... but it sounds the same and I deal with it. ;-)

    OSR OSRIC Versions?

Stuart -- I checked and there was an update of OSRIC on Lulu in February. Is there a page that lists the differences ... or it is just "typos"? Funny, I have the Black Blade print which I leaf through from time to time, but generally use a printed double-sided, three-hole-punched copy that I...

Thanks for clarifying my poor memory.

    OSR OSRIC Versions?

IIRC Stuart Marshall commented a while back (here or Dragonsfoot, can't remember which) that there would be no significant updates to OSRIC. Since ascending AC is a non-AD&D mechanic, I assume that no such update will be made, which is why I suggested putting it in a supplement. This is not to...

    OSR OSRIC Versions?

Why wait for someone else to do it? If you know what an ascending AC system should look like, write it. I have no idea what the OSRIC crew plans for supplements (if any), but you could submit it to them for inclusion in any that may be in the works. If none are planned? Enough people sending...

    AD&D 1st edition and 2nd edition differences?

The same is generally true of BX and BECMI modules. Anyone conversant with any of the listed games should be able to translate the differences on the fly. If something doesn't make sense, make up something that does!

    Pre-WotC editions inquiry

How is OSRIC working out? I run an AD&D game with OSRIC on the table along with my AD&D books (not that I use the books during game play). As was mentioned, the clones are generally better organized and easier to understand. As much as I enjoy reading Gygaxian descriptions ... the AD&D books...

Things that just bother me when it comes to D&D.

This is basically my view of the situation. The current gods did not create the multiverse, they're just currently the biggest guys-n-gals on the block. IMC killing anything major requires some serious mojo and may have repercussions. Regardless of what the game rules may allow, it's up to...

How do you reconcile hit points?

In general I don't over think hit points. As someone stated, it's just an abstract game mechanic. That said, this idea is a good one.

    OSR OSRIC Versions?

To be best of my knowledge no further editions of OSRIC 2.x are planned, other than possible minor errata. IIRC Stuart Marshall (chief editor) stated a while back that he's not planning any type of major release. He posts here (PapersAndPaychecks) and can comment further. I have the Black...

    D&D 1E Creative Uses for 1e Spells

My players use Silence 15' Radius and Invisibility with great effect. Cast the Silence on a coin, it doesn't get a save and can be thrown at the feet of an enemy spell caster or just away when the party needs to cast. Discuss the usage of Invisibility with the DM. I run it hard as it's easy...

Looking for some good adventure modules

The following adventures hosted by DF (by John Turcotte) are a trilogy: Beneath Dark Towen, Where the Fallen Jarls Sleep, & Stormcrows Gather. They start at levels 4-6. There are other related adventures there, but I don't recall which ones off the top of my head. This is my first post here...
