I've seen that in Star Wars with ship attachment and Spelljamner. Sone PCs spend more effort keeping the ship going vs other PCs...

Yup. I got to see the hex+ level 6 empowered scorching ray combo Sunday. 21d6 danage. Wasn't paralyzed though (42d6) so "only" 80 damage.
