    Shadowdark Shadowdark General Thread [+]

The devouring sounds rad! Could even roll for buffs or debuffs, or maybe the players manage to get them to feed on something dangerous/weird.

Pig iron could be a fun weakness, for the pun alone. 'Creating & Adapting Monsters for use in Shadowdark RPG'...

    Shadowdark Shadowdark General Thread [+]

I am very curious if I will buy Dolmebwood. Really want to have it, but rather sceptical if it will ever see use at my table. And it just has so many pages, unsure of I would even read it all. The adventures look top notch, though. Has anyone here used them for Shadowdark, were they a good fit?

D&D General 2014 vs 2024: Monster HP and Resistances

I think Teos Abadia did some work with the monsters. If I remember correctly, he talked about it in this video, but I don't have time to check right now: You may also find aomething on his blog: https://alphastream.org/index.php/2025/03/26/how-to-create-a-monster-for-revised-dd-5e-2024/

Other D&D Variant Best D&D Clone for open table play with beginners?

I recently found myself in the same position, and I decided on Shadowdark. Worked out really well so far, the 5e players in my group appreciated the streamlined nature, and the newcomers so far took to it bery quickly. I have mostly used the pregenerated characters so far, provided the...

It's Time to VOTE for your MOST ANTICIPATED TTRPG of 2026!

Had a hardtime narrowing it down to 3 this year, myself. Black Company because of the IP, Deathbringer because I gave heard if for a long time, even if I now longer follow Professor DM, and OSE, because OSE are my picks. Runner up would be Stonetop and Warhammer.

Other D&D Variant [+] Curse of Strahd in Nimble vs Shadowdark

I don't know much about nimble, except that every youtuber seems to gabe a crush on it. I can say, however, that Shadowdark works really well for Strahd. The tone of the game, the lethality, the vibes. Mike Shea has some.good resources on running Curse of Strahd in shadiwdark, and the...
