Approaching writing adventures for home games?

In that case, So you want to be a Game Master should be right up your alley. Never read anything better regarding planning investigations and the like.

Approaching writing adventures for home games?

Those are two of my most valuable sources. Add to that Matt Colville Running the Game, and you are good to go. The current situation my players and I are faced with: They finished Ghostlight by The Arcane Library and immediately used the ship to get to the plane of death/hell to fix death I...

What's the most efficient way to plan a one-shot TTRPG adventure?

Can't recommend them enough! Just a few evenings ago, I prepped for an upcoming session, where the players chose to cancel the trip to the big city and commandeered a hell ride on a ship to the plane of death, more or less. After searching for inspiration and stuff to steal elsewhere, I opened...

    Tales From Woodcreek

Finally got around to watching the trailer. Must say I am intrigued, hope I will find the time to check it out when it airs!

D&D General DMs, how do you handle 'split party' situations?

That, to me, is a very surprising take. I really like split parties, but I switch between players often, when the possibility arrives. Just like I do when the party is not split, actually.

Brennan Lee Mulligan to GM Critical Role Campaign 4

Probably having trouble getting the Daggerheart books, those are sold out everywhere!

    Does Anyone Care? (Cosmere RPG)

Just to chime in, I would not consider Sanderson's world deep at all. The important parts can be learned at a glance. Not having read the rules, I'd suspect his magic systems work well in an RPG. And I am sure we will hear a lot more when people have their copies in their hands!

    Shadowdark Shadowdark General Thread [+]

Funny, I stumbled on trilemma yesterday. What I read so far seemed very good and varied and very to me. Skerples wrote one of the adventures that caught my eye, about a haunted house with a squatter problem. Will drop this in my city for sure, should be a hoot!

Official News Full List of Heroic Companions

I think the art just sold me on this one. Thi bird strider thing, the undead buttler, and the ooze or snail that looks like an alchemists mishap are just so damn evocative.

D&D General How Do I Help Mentor a GM Making Rookie Mistakes?

Just say 'I am having a hard time with unexpected rule changes.', either before, after or between sessions. I don't think it needs to be more complicated than that.

D&D General My experience with paid D&D tools after 3+ years as a DM/Player

Yes, I am very sure that's the one. Awesome piece of software, very easy to use, if you don't overcomplicate it from the start.

    Good solo games

I have started playing Lichdom a few months back, and have been enjoying it. The journal that I am getting out of it will be neat background lore for my current 5e table. Working title is 'ramblings of a mad man'.

Looking for a properly bleak game for a paper.

Have you played the Black Sword Hack? I am thinking about getting it because I have heard good things about it, but admittedly do not know much about it yet.

    Optimization and optimizers...

What I want to point out is that nobody mentioned an actual problem at the table, but is only arguing semantics. I don't see any good coming from this for anyone.

    Optimization and optimizers...

What's the point of the thread? Do you need advice with a problem at the table?
