Crystalmancy - Powers of the Gems will be "shipping" tomorrow exclusively to RPGnow, where you can be one of the first to discover the ancient magics of the crystalmancers.

UPDATE:
It is now available through our RPGnow Storefront!

When mortal races were new to the world, they looked to many places for power. Some looked to the gods that created them, some to great spirits of the world that hold power and authority of the natural realm, a few, though, looked to the world itself for strength and power. Among these were the first of the crystalmancers, arcane spellcasters that tap the power of gems to enact their sorceries.

Written by Dallas Parsons, Crystalmancy - Powers of the Gems explains the mysterious powers behind these arcane spellcasters who carry with them a king's fortune in gems, and how they use these crystals and gems to perform amazing feats of arcane might that rivals any wizard or sorcerer.

Within the 57 page PDF (plus credits and OGL) we bring you two different ways to introduce crystalmancy into a fantasy d20 campaign. The first is the Crystalmancer core class, much akin to the wizard, and the second a prestige class for the wizards and sorcerers who wish to head down the road of crystalmancy or for Game Masters who don't want to add a new core class to the game.

The tome also presents more than 60 spells for Bards, Clerics, Druids, Sorceres and Wizards, new magic items and magic item properties, a small selection of potent artifacts of the ancient crystalmancers, new creatures and the plane of crystal, inhabited by the native Berylis.

Over the next week, an Epic Level expansion and preview to this product will be available free of charge through RPGnow.

There will be an Epic Expansion (and free preview) coming out within the next few days.

This is Dallas Parson's first published work, originally proposed to Ambient Inc. in the summer of 2002.

And it is out now. So I'll go up and edit the press release. :)

Hi,

I'm Dallas Parsons and like Hellhound said this is my first book. I thought that with the book coming out by E.N. Publishing that I might as well spend some time here at E.N. world. Some that have been around Monte Cook's message board may remember me. I used to post there, but work, school, and writing have taken their toll on my internet time.

I hope that anyone that checks the book out(a nice link to it is below :D) enjoys it.

Hello Dallas,

First, I want to congratulate you on Crystalmancy. I hope it garners a lot of success !

I was wondering if the R.A. Salvatore's Demon Wars trilogy inspired Crystalmancy (I'm sure I'm not the first to ask ;)) ?

Thanks! I'm hoping so too, but I'm just glad to see it in print.

Actually, you are the first person to ask, but nah I really haven't gotten around to reading those yet. They are on my list of reads, but that is one long list.

The first inspiration came from an old campaign when the item that is in the book Genefae's Rose first appeared. The item appeared right as the campaign was coming to an end so I didn't think to much more on it until I was looking through old material for ideas for a book.

In the demon wars trilogy, almost the ONLY magic available is possible by special practitioners using gems and their properties to cast spells. Very well done, and Salvatore goes in detail about the gem magic thingy. You should definitely read it, you're in a special position to appreciate it !

Oh, and the map for the world (included in the books) is a direct ripoff of the province of Quebec and eastern Canada. Look for yourself:

I live in Montreal, so I guess I should be flattered...
