D&D could do with a set of odd-numbered dice. It would make weapon damage progression smoother.

Below is a set of odd-numbered dice I co-invented and had made (all rights reserved). What do you think? Please post below any questions or comments about these dice.

Machined aluminum? Very nice.

First thought: I now want a full set of big, beefy dice (including your odd-numbered ones) made out of machined aluminum or stainless steel...

Second thought: I think this would be a great way of making the classes a bit further apart; d5 for sorcerers and bards, d7 for druids, d9 for rangers, and so on.

Third thought: I still want a full set of big, beefy dice (including your odd-numbered ones) made out of machined aluminum or stainless steel...

Indeed, D&D could benefit in many ways from odd-numbered dice. If they'd been available in the early 70's, I suspect that Col. Pladoh and Dave Arneson would have included them too.

MY HATE OF d03 KNOW NO LIMIT!

You might as well flip a 6-sided die labeled 1-3 twice! :)

Seriously though, these look VERY cool!

I understand. That's why a stuck pins into one of the d3's! :p With D&D 3.5, you, your PC and your dice can have piercings.

True. But you couldn't do that at present for d7, d9, d11 or d13 as there are no fair d14's, d18's, d22's or d26's.

There's to many dice in D&D as it is. We really don't need to add anymore. :p

I want to create a barbarian with a greataxe just so I could justify having d12s in my bag.

That....is very cool...I've been lustin gafter solid metal dice for a long time...and I keep ending up wanting to use odd-sided dice for various depraved purposes in my games...I don't see any mention of either you or your machinist friend selling sets of these?

More dice, and more variety in dice, is ALWAYS a good thing. Remember, the heft of your dice bag reflects directly upon your inherent worth as a Human Being.

Phil and Dixie tell me you're lying.

If you hate dice so much, go play SAGA or some other ooojy system like that. (edit: as some people have difficulty telling the difference, this is a joke).
