EN Publishing products will now be available in print. Click here for the (currently short) list of EN Publishing PRINT products. These print versions are available exclusively from RPGNow.

The list of print products will increase over the coming days. We aim to have our entire catalogue of products available in print format. All new products from now on will be available in print.

We are very excited to be able to offer these products to you in the format you prefer - your choice of PDF or Print. We know that a large number of people have never seen an EN Publishing book because they do not wish to purchase a PDF; if you're one of those people, why not take a look and see if a print version to put on your bookshelf tempts you!

As a bonus, if you buy the Print Edition, you also get the PDF, so you can read the product as soon as you buy it, instead of waiting and pacing in front of the mailbox waiting for the powers of the postal service to get it to you.

E.N. Spellcraft - Elements of Magic Revised - the critically acclaimed plug-in magic system;
E.N. Spellcraft - Elements of Magic: Lyceian Arcana - the expansion to EoM;
E.N. Toolbook - Steam & Steel - a guide to fantasy steamworks;
E.N. Guild - Banking Guild - bring medieval banking into your campaign;
E.N. Critters - Ruins of the Pale Jungle - an exciting, themed collection of monsters.

Also, if you have already purchased the PDF of any of these products through our RPGNow storefront, the storefront will automatically discount the purchase price by $2 as a thank-you for buying the PDF before we launched the print editions.

This is a good idea, as I'm one of those "refuse to buy pdf" people. However, I'm also a bit hesitant to shell out $20 or so for a book I haven't seen. I think sales would be much improved if you posted some sample pages from the books. (The one I'm specifically interested in is Steam and Steel). This would allow people to see the quality of the art, layout, writing, etc. (Remember that many non-pdf buyers like me may not have ever seen an EN World publication before, and so have no way to judge the quality for themselves. Their first instinct may be "about the same as the smallest of the 3rd party D&D Publishers", which is not very flattering company to be in...)

Also, describe how the book will be printed (P.o.D I assume? ) and the physical quality of the book. (Will it be normal size, pamphlet size, saddlestitched or glued, etc.) Will the printed book contain any supplemental material, such as the Diseases or Expanded Prosthetics books?

I don't specifically have a Steam & Steel preview, but I've attached a preview of 4C2F PDF version, which will at least give you a basic idea of graphic/layout values. We'll have to look into getting more previews available.

There's a bunch of "screenshots" of pages on various RPGNow PDF products. Let me see if I can grab 'em and attach them below, too. The layout in print is indentical to that in these PDF previews, but interiors are all in b/w. Again, none of these are of S&S specifically, though, just of random products I could find images for at a moment's notice. In fact, they probably sell us short! :)

Smaller products (under 64 pages) are being offered in Saddle-Stitched format (B&W interior, heavy glossy colour cover, bound by staples like a magazine) and larger products are being offered in Perfect-Bound format (B&W interior, heavy glossy colour cover, bound with glue like most soft-cover releases). Basically, the same sort of setup you see with most of the products in your game store.

There's no extra material in the print versions. They're exactly the same book, just in a different format - gives people the choice as to which they prefer.

Their first instinct may be "about the same as the smallest of the 3rd party D&D Publishers", which is not very flattering company to be in...)

You'd be surprised at how healthy some of these publishers are. Publishers who have been - up until now - e-Publishers are often doing better than many print publishers.

Thanks for the previews. Just from these peeks, it seems to me your layout and design may be a step or 2 above the smaller of the 3rd party publishers. You have seem to have decent art, one page has a border design, etc. Nice work!

It's a shame the extra stuff on prosthetics and such wouldn't be in the S&S book. At only a dozen pages each, there is no point to printing them in their own books... combined with the main book is the only feasable method I can see. Now that you are going to printing, it may be worthwhile to consider bundling the smaller pdfs together so that a buyer can get all of the info in one place. S&S and its 2 supplements together, combine EoM and LA into 1 book, etc. Larger books with a better price/page ratio than smaller books seems to be the wave of the RPG future...

Is the book orderable by a store at their usual discount, or online for full price only?

For the record, Ronin Arts produced the two smaller supplements for S&S. We're planning more in the future and may, if there's ever enough demand, collect all of the smaller supplements for print. As of now, this is unlikely.

Here is an image I just grabbed from Steam & Steel.

I'll talk to the author and Russ and decide on what pages we should put up as a sample of the contents.
