I'm working on a new world called Astarya.
There is still much to do, but I've decided to post some parts of my work here hoping to get some suggestions.

(History of Elves)
1) The Rising of the Elves
The history of elven races is long, full of happiness and sorrow. Elves were born in Belemil, in the Rising Star bay, where the sea touches the forest. In the years the elves decide to live in different enviroments, and these produced the different elvish subraces: the Wood (or Green) Elves decided to live in the deep woods, the Coast Elves loved the seaside and the Sea Elves loved the sea (and became water creatures); the Star Elves liked every place from which they could see the stars; among the elves they were the most interested in beauty, art and magic.
2) The Great Departure
After years in Belemil many the elves decided to explore the rest of the world. The wood elves brought the finest wood from the forest, the coast elves built great ships and the star elves laid their spells on them; finally they left Belemil, with the sea elves swimming around the boats. This was called "The Great Departure" or "First Farewell", because many elves still remained in Belemil. The journey was long, but eventually they reached the Aiglos peninsula of Aldarion; then they sailed all around the northern part of Aldriand.
When they saw the Everwhite mountain shining in the night many Star Elves decided to settle there, and these where then called White Elves; they lived on the mountains for long, reaching the highest peaks where the sky was clearer and the stars brighter. Also some wood elves left the boats and settled in the forests around the mountains. This was called the "Second Farewell"
The ships with the remaining elves floated down the west coast of Aldriand until they reached the gulf of Nenuial. Here there was the "Third Farewell", when most of the coast and see elves fell in love with the many small islands in the gulf, beautiful and sparse like the stars in the night.
The remaining host sailed down in the sees between Nenthas and Lagiorean and finally reaced the cost of Tethara, and the ships ended their long journey at twilight in the large bay that was then called "Bay of Sunset". The elves then made their way through the plains until they reached the Silver Mountains and the Great Forest (Altaurëa). The elves that remained in the mountains, mostly Star Elves, took the name of Silver Elves, and their most famous city is The Mountainstar.
In the later years small groups of elves moved around, but it was nothing compeared with the Great Journey, that will be forever remembered in the elves songs and poems.
3) The White Elves (Fáneldar) and the brown ones (Varniquendi)
Among the elvish people the white elves have probably the richest story. This elves were the first who taught the Art of Wizardry to the other races (mostly humans and gnomes) thinking magic would have helped them to have a easier and happier life. But the elven hearts where still blessed and nothing they new about evil, and they never thought that someone was interested in the Art not for knowledge and beauty, but for power.
This lead to the the two Mage's wars (that are better described in "History of Northern Aldriand") and to Cahlir's rebellion, the first war between elves and elves and the origin of the Drow (Drow in their own language and in most human's ones, Úmealië in high elven thongue, with the meaning of "evil people", considered elves no more). In this period the Varniquendi decided to live apart from the other peoples except elves and some feys; also they became very suspicious about humans and determined to kill anyone damaging their forest, which suffered greatly in the wars.
After this tormented times there were some centuries of peace and harmony between humans and elves, until the "Ash Years".
Also in those times of peace a small group of white elves decided to live near the Great Eagles and, after they had praised long the god of flying creatures, they became the Winged Elves. They lived in the mountains for the rest of their lives, rarely seen by others except the other elves.
