Wow, Joe, thanks. Both these books were certainly labors of love for the teams that worked on them. Jason and Denise at Ambeint rock.
We, who worked on Blight Magic, did so with a passion. We wanted to create a magical tool that did not disrupt the current system while at the same time offer a type of magic that created a feel and unique quality. I think we achieved that, even vusually with the artwork and layout.
John Shannnon, who did the cover, did an excellent job. I hope more publishers will use him. he is great, fast, and reliable.
Of course, you then add Andy Hopp's fine work and I think the feel of Blight Magic, and the characters, was captured.
And "big props" to Jason, LE1 really inspired the artists there as well and I think they outdid themselves in creating images to fit the classes in that book.
We strive to offer things that are very different and not a rehash, some times we (and others who attempt a far out idea) take a few lumps, but I think we are learning well how to reach a balance with offering something totally different and still not bending the d20 system rules too much.
Mystic Warriors was our real first attempt at that and folks either loved it or hated it. With Blight Magic, I think that it is far more intuitive a fluid, working along side the d20 system with no real disruption or change to the rules as they apply.
Sorry for the ramble, and I hope you as a reviewer, and others will agree with my assesments.
