EN Milestones

With August just around the corner, I thought it might be appropriate for a milestone thread. It has been...

* 6 years since I started collecting scoops for Eric Noah's Unofficial D&D 3rd Edition News.
* 4 years since I stopped collecting scoops for said site and passed off my forums to Morrus's growing EN World site.
* 6,000 posts (ok, a smidge more) here on this incarnation of the forums.

What a pleasure it was, and what a pleasure it continues to be. It is a privelege to have this little piece of the internet where I know I will find like-minded friends to discuss my favorite hobby.

I want to say a special thanks to Russ, Michael Morris, Piratecat, Henry, Darkness and the whole EN World family of moderators and other helpers. It lives and thrives because of your hard work -- thank you!

Another special thanks to publishers and authors like Monte Cook, Chris Pramas, Mike Mearls, Gary Gygax ... the list goes on for miles! ... who come by frequently to chat with us and go beyond mere press releases. It's always a privelege having you here.

And to all of those folks who are relatively new but eager to post; those who have been here only since Russ's reign; and those who have been around since day one of my old site -- thank you for being here and taking the extra effort to be considerate and friendly. And fun!

I'm sure I've forgotten to thank someone ... when my noggin kicks in I'll be sure to add something in the thread. :)

Congrats, Eric! I can honestly say that I don't think I'd be a published d20 author were it not for the information and company open calls on the site over the years. Thanks for getting this whole thing started!

As one of those, "folks who are relatively new but eager to post" I got to ask about the logo... Is it part of the old original site? :)

you betcha though the grognards will recall that I went through a couple of logos (and color schemes) before black/gold/white. Anyone remember red text on black background??

Sweet. :D I know MM will kill me for ever suggesting it but a retro day, where everything looked like the old site, would be very cool. :D

(I think I like the Red/Black design better. :D )

Oh, I've seen that red/black one before! Don't recall where.

I used the "new" (at the time) D&D 3rd Ed logo and just re-arranged/cropped some of the letters to make my name. WotC used their red/black logo on the promo materials and website for 3E.
