Seriously, cocked dice are kinda like pr0n--I know it when I see it, but I've never felt the need to codify specifically how cocked it has to be to be cocked.
This is my attitude too. FWIW, I voted for 'edge pointing to the sky'.

Nope, just an eraser... a far too big to balance on there eraser... and those templates are not silly! They are functional d20 hex rules based templates for fireball, line effects, cones, and the like. Sure they're silly in Gurps, but they cut down time for d20. (ignore the Point of Origin notation on them "P.O.O")
how about I set up a mini, an identical dice... and demonstrate that it can balance. now vote for option one TwistedEar... join your master on the dark side....

*proceeds with experiment* dammit sit on their dice... but the clearest side up was a good number :''(
Not sore... just trying to find out what most people use... sore would be leaving the game... leaving the game...

Yes, I noticed the Colossal POO and Huge POO notations on your templates, and yes, I know it's all oathbound stuff, but still....

I already voted, and you know that the GM and I go way back ;) It's as much a house rule (like all dice MUST be on the table, no rolls on the floor permitted.... period) He'd already drafted me into the dark side with the half-orc dwarf.

And you know that it's all because we left the promised land of D20 and are mucking about with GURPS - it's hard to get a d20 cocked on a mini like that :heh:

The Colossal and Huge creatures have the same P.O.O as does the fireball... guano freely and readily available....

Edit
Hmm, maybe I should demonstrate the hex grids and the red dots of P.O.O

There's something happening here;
what it is ain't exactly clear.
There's a man with a die over there
a-tellin' me, I got to beware.
It's time to stop, children; what's that roll?
Everybody look but don't you troll.

It might feel good -
it might sound a little somethin' -
but damn the game if it don't mean nothin'!
What is cocked? Who got cocked?
Where's the cocked in life behind the game behind the game
I got cocked
she got cocked
we got cocked
they got cocked
he got cocked
it might feel good
or sound a little somethin
but the game is cocked if it ain't saying nothin

- lyrics inspired by 'He Got Game' by Public Enemy feat. Stephen Stills.

My standing rule when I DM is this:

If the dice falls off the table or lands at an angle of any sort, the player has the option of re-rolling it. However, he takes the result of that roll regardless. If the player has a good roll that comes up crooked, then he will think twice about asking for a reroll. If it is a bad roll, there is an equal probability that the roll will turn up bad again, just as there was with the initial roll.

While we're at it, when does a character sheet have too many kool-aid or Mountain Dew stains on it to be considered legal? ;)

We've never really put that much thought into it, I guess if it doesn't lay flat that's a reroll.

If it's not laying flat, it's cocked. If I'm DM'ing and a character is very near to death, and the death serves no useful purpose, it may also be cocked.

all rolls off the table, no matter how good or poor, ever count.
