I, probably like many of you, have been thinking about gifts for friends in our PnP group.
The idea is to avoid the 'usual' items like dice and books because we have lots of that kind of stuff.

Perhaps some of you have the same problem...
I have some ideas, but no way to implement them. Here are some of my thought starters, and perhaps some of you know of an existing item that does the job, or have the expertise to draw up a plan how to make it.

Simple hit point counter - 2 inch (50.8mm) X 6 inch (152.4mm) X 1 inch (25.4mm) thick board
with pegs for +/- and two numberd columns 0-9 for counting (pegs in the holes)

Variation on the hit point counter - 2 inch (50.8mm) X 6 inch (152.4mm) X 1 inch (25.4mm) thick board
with LED epoxied in holes, an IC counter, and up/down button to advance...

Larger counter...
Board with hit points column, AC column, ranged and melee bonuses ...

'Steel Sqwire' spell area of effect wire outlines (cool!) see it online

unique DM Screen

What ideas do you have?unte

Shelves for dice and miniatures and counters to hide behind?
that's it.
I actually built a larger version of this for myself a few years back and it works great. It has internal lighting, a strobe on top for 'in combat mode' and plenty of room for maps and such. Unfortunately, it required its own table. Were I to go BIG again, it would have its own stand with a turntable top.

This one I drew up is smaller and a bit more portable. The shelves also help keep the bend of the board smooth. Decorate / paint / metal studs / foux stonework... would help it look cool. Functionally, sticking pocket folders for charts and maps would work too.
