To GenCon? I need advice.

Okay. Here is the situation:

I have never been to GenCon. Currently, I live about two hours away from Indianapolis. My girlfriend is going - she has an artist booth (Necropolis Studios - you should check it out) and a hotel room.

I do not have a badge or anything, and I would not be able to get there until Friday night (I have to work on Friday).

I want to go, but will I have trouble getting a badge? Would it make sense at that point to get the 4-day badge?

Any advice or suggestions would be extremely welcome.

At worst, you'll have to wait in line for a while for a badge. Their aren't any avalability issues, as there is no limit to how many badges they sell.

Wouldn't bother with a 4-day. Just get a two-day. Yeah, you'll have to wait in line but, depending on when you get there Friday, you might be able to wait in line Friday night. If not, go to get a badge at least before they open so you're in a decent place in line.

You are better off buying the badge on Friday night even if it is a 2-day Sat-Sun badge. Thursday and Saturday are the worst days for lines. Friday is generally very short.

I have never heard of this Two-Day badge abomination. In fact, I see no such product listing on the registration page: http://www.gencon.com/2007/indy/registration/default.aspx

Is this an on-site only badge or something? You're better off buying a 4-day badge, price-wise than two one day badges.

Haven't heard of it? Just because I made it up?? :)

I had just assumed there was a two-day badge. Bad me. No biscuit.

Why not have your girlfriend go as early as she can and buy the badge for you? The four day is still probably cheaper than two singel day passes.

Is there any problem having one person buy a pass for another?
