Hoping we still have everyone...

At one moment, you start hearing a not-so-distant squeaking noise, similar to a pack of big, excited rats.
The moment after, you see two figures, armored in leather and disguised with leaves, nocking arrows in the Northern end of the clearing. Elves. Shooting at you.
Despite the trees offering a degree of cover, the first arrow penetrates Heinrich's side, while the second flies right next to Romulin's face and sticks into Galinndan's shoulder.

One f the elves then flies another arrow, but the projectile ends up sticking out of a tree a few steps before Heinrich. The elf then retreats beyond the trees at his back.

[sblock=Initiative and status, surprise round & round 1]Heinrich takes 9 dmg, Galinndan 12.

Ikni's body is moving almost before the arrows leave their bowstrings. She whips out her sword and darts forward, weaving nimbly through her allies. When she gets past Heinrich, she looses an earsplitting wordless cry and charges the visible elf, slashing his thigh and hampering his movement.

[sblock=actions and tactics]minor: draw sword
move: to H9
standard: charge to L6, using Foesnare in place of a basic melee attack: hits AC 18 for 8 damage, and if that hits the elf is immobilized until the end of my next turn

Those of you who read Closed Eye will know that elf archers are seriously nasty at long range. We need to get them into melee, preferably marked by a defender, as quickly as possible. Ikni can't mark this turn, but immobilization is arguably better for the moment...

[sblock=More tactics]Yes, shutting down the elves would be a great idea. Also, to take a page from the Closed Eye, we should consider knocking them unconscious rather than killing them. If they work for Lord Arnamil, he probably won't be happy with us killing even more of his servants. Perhaps we could avoid the way the Closed Eye lads handle their prisoners though. No offense, of course, to any who happen to be reading this.[/sblock]
