What videogames are you playing in 2025?

It's great! MT has a higher drive toward "escape velocity" than StS. It gives you ample opportunities to exceed the obvious design tolerances, lots of doubling and potential infinites, and unlike StS it intentionally scales such that you're required to use those tricks.

That being said, it is completely obsoleted by MT2, which simply has twice the content.
Is there a continuity of "story" in MT2? That is, should I beat MT before I play MT2?

Technically yes, but the story in that game fits in a postage stamp and is well beside the point. From a gameplay perspective, you are missing literally nothing.

All the clans from the first game are added to MT 2 after about your first 10-15 runs.

On just one playthrough, it is fun. it feels a little more complex than StS, but not by a terrible amount. I am interested to see what its replayability is like.
The initial complexity is higher, but in the longer-term MT1 is less complex/thoughtful than StS, I would suggest, primarily because it's a lot easier to just slot into certain multiplicative strats and steamroll (and as @Pedantic notes, the game is designed assuming you will do this), whereas StS tends to be more about finesse over a sustained period.

Which you enjoy more is a rather different question of course - I liked both but I can't help but note my MT1 playtime is a fraction of my StS playtime. EDIT - Still, it's dozens of hours, so you, good value for money! I had plenty of fun!

Definitely want to try MT2 at some point though, and StS2 seems like it's a long way out.

I finally got around to firing up Fallout 4 again and finishing the Far Harbor quest line. I had Nick with me. I went guns blazing into the Nucleus and destroyed the Children of Atom. Even though that upset DiMA, I was still able to convince him to turn himself in to the people of Far Harbor. I was then able to convince them not to assault Acadia. Yay!

I've been toying with the idea of starting a new playthrough and going with the Brotherhood of Steel. (I went with the Railroad for my first playthrough.) But the BoS are mostly jerks, and I'm not a "just following orders" kind of guy, so ... I also don't want to start again from scratch.

I'm feeling that way about all my games at the moment. I want to play something but don't want to start over from the beginning ... but at the same time, I don't want to just wander around doing randomly generated endgame stuff either.

And I can't really justify the cost of a new game at the moment. So ... blah.

(The cheapest game on my Steam wishlist right now is Fallout 3. The Ultimate Edition is $35. Even that is probably too much to justify right now.)

I know the feeling. Currently trying to get back into Cyberpunk 2077, weaning myself off my favoured hacker play style in favour of a more stealth / agility build. Just getting to the end of the prologue.

At this point it's probably worth holding out for the enhanced edition in a couple of years.

I decided to give Fallout 4 another go from the beginning. Playing as Nate instead of Nora this time. Gonna go with BoS. Hopefully I can put up with the jerkiness.

I'm also not going to bother with settlements this time. It's fun building stuff, and it feels good rebuilding the Commonwealth, but I got tired of having to go round to each one and clear out the stuff and defend them when they get attacked and so on. I might just go with a few here and there with supply lines so I don't have to go back to, say, Sanctuary when I want to craft.

I'm also going to play with no mods this time so I can get the achievements. (For my previous playthrough, I used a mod that let me keep Dogmeat along with another companion.)

Fair enough!

I suppose I could try Fallout: New Vegas again. I bought that one with Fallout 4 after watching the show, but I couldn't get into NV because I wanted to play a vault survivor. The graphics were off-putting too.
