[sblock=OOC]Yes, you can definitely make 2 Aid Another rolls on your turn, but one must be Bluff and the other Intimidate, rather than both on the same skill.[/sblock]

We need a safe place, somewhere we can go until they are gone so they don't harm us. Alnar says to the group. The office is too close... Hmmm. Wait I have an idea! Yes that will work! A tavern! Alnar nods his head vigorously. Yes Oni, being demos, are naturally creatures of vice. Even if they do find us in there they won't be able to resist having a drink or two, or three. Anyway, it might keep them busy long enough for us to slip out unnoticed!

[sblock=rolls?]Here are the rolls, but something is up. Maybe I am reading it wrong, but the second one can't be right, I could not get a three or a nine. (never used the website before).

What should I do?

Also, I'm going to keep rolling Stealth checks for Bann-ur because he wouldn't know that he can start being loud now, and it might add some RPing fodder for the others to play off of unless they actually talk him into leaving for the tavern.[/sblock]

After opening the chest, Verloc figures he might as well start forging the documents, seeing that he might be the only one in the room who has tried it before. He moves to the table and looks for the documents. Damnit! I can't forge my own handwriting in this darkness, he thinks to himself. Seeing that Garry still has the light pointed inside the chest he whispers:

"Hey, wolfman! If I am to help you forge these documents I need some light over here right now!"

Jezebel, still clutching to Alnar's arm, nods at her "dear's" suggestion.

"Oh, perfect! No oni would dare show its face in a brightly lit tavern. Yep, let's get back to the Hanged Man - it should still be open."

As she starts leading Alnar away from the scene, she calls back to the guard, "You'd better come with us. I'd hate to think you got killed because of a demon that's following me."

[sblock=bluff (aid another) 22]Just to help out Alnar a little more, let's make that bluff check a 31! With that, maybe we can convince the guard to buy us a round while we're at the tavern.

Dissatisfied he sneaks back to the rogue and helps him with the papers.

[sblock=ooc]Both chests have already been searched: in this post and this one. The group has already found ink/quill/wax (item 1) and departure papers (item 2). The only item that remains to finish the forgery is the Customs Seal (item 3), and the only surface/container left unsearched in this room of the office is the barrel.
[sblock="Streetwise 13"]As an official seal is an item afforded political importance, it is likely there is only one in this office. It is also unlikely to be stored in a barrel.[/sblock][/sblock]

In the Office

Garry grabs the stack of departure forms out of the chest, and brings them over to the southern desk, where the ink and quill are waiting. Moving silently, Verloc slips into the desk chair and begins to write quickly and precisely by the light of Garry's sunrod. No stranger to forging official documents, Joox/Verloc is able to make excellent guesses as to the numeric codes and officious language typical of such documents.

On the Street

The guard listens with increasing confusion evident on his face as Alnar and Jezebel attempt to talk him into abandoning his post to go to a tavern. "But what about the ritual?" the young man asks.

"This fella here just said if'n we make a ring of steel we can hold the oni off," he says, pointing at Ferris.

He is nonetheless obviously worried about the prospect of a man-eating demon bursting through the door at any moment. "Still, I don't wanna stand about and hope for some magic tricks to protect me, but my uncle'll be awful mad if I go off to a tavern and leave some monster to wreck the office..."

At this point the watchman hears a low snarl emanate from the office, as Garry expresses his frustration with Verloc. "Maybe I better go call a Watchman. Don't want to go up there and ring that bell. That thing sounds hungry..."

The guard is partway to believing the tales that Jezebel and Alnar are spinning. It will take a bit more convincing for him to leave his post, though. We'll need another round of successful Bluff and Intimidate vs. DC 15 from the group outside.
Inside, Garry and Verloc will both be tied up next round finishing the forgery.

Ferris and Bann-ur still have unused actions this round. Once I get either actions or delays/passes from them I will update with Round 13.
