We'll see. When I called to check on the car, they had put on a new rotor and new brake pads. They said that the backing came off one brake pad. In a few minutes, the manager was going to take the car on an extended test drive to see if any problem developed.

The manager called me back to say the caliper looked fine but wouldn't seat properly and rubbed the rotor. He thinks that's what caused the rotor to get hot. So we get a new caliper, bracket, mounting hardware, and new bearings. I'll pick the car up tomorrow morning.
