Mapping Examples

Oh, when saving all the little icons you draw up into folders, it helps to have the folder option set to thumbnails. This way you can see what you wish to paste into your current map. I'm no artist, and the initial maps took me a while longer, but with a little practice they get better and go a lot quicker. I just thought I would share another free option for making maps for your games.

Durring play, I put these maps out on a bullitin board that is layed flat on the table. We use colored push pins to mark the positions of the PC's. I also cover up rooms that I don't want the players to see with post-it notes.

These look very good. I'm impressed that you've been able to produce them im MSPaint. They look a lot crisper than anything I've been able to produce.

Good stuff! I usually find that you can do more with a simpler program*. For instance I much rather use Wordpad than Word. Paint is an old favorite of mine. I think your idea to use a flat bulletin board and pins is a great idea. A very good alternative to using battle-mats and minis (and less costly). An advantage of using pins is that you can have more than one person in each square.

* And still feel as you're the one actually doing it.
