Thx. I saw that, but I guess I had 3.x stuck in my brain (and was expecting a range, e.g., scimitars crit on a natural 18-20).
So, in this edition, a crit is a natural 20 and nothing less? And damage is calculated by adding a second die, then adding any relevant modifiers. Restated another way, one wouldn't double a strength modifier if one critted with a greatsword. So, if Jones the Giant crits with a longsword and has Strength 15, he would deal 2d8 + 2 dmg, NOT 2d8 + 4 dmg. Nor would you merely double 1d8 + 2.
