Not digging the significant changes they have made to the story.

Then prepare for more disappointment if you continue to compare the two different media. The producers have already stated that they're taking a radically different take on the stories and characters. From now on you have two different universes; A Song of Ice and Fire, the book series and Game of Thrones, the TV show. They are no longer the same.

I'm guessing you got a "sneak preview" of the first four episodes, right? [sblock=Spoilers ahead]Yeah, I know it's a different story. I just don't like the changes they've made, specially one character in particular. It's starting to get that Walking Dead feel, where i just don't care what happens with the character because it's become trite.

Okay, I lied, there were no real spoilers. :p[/sblock]

I haven't seen the leaked episodes. I didn't feel like waiting a month. The producers said they would make wholesale changes to all the things. I'm only up to book three so I don't have really have a horse in this race.
For me, whenever a book is ported to the screen, that's a new universe for me. The film/tv show gets judged on its own merit. Otherwise I'd still be pissed off at Verhoeven for what he did to Starship Troopers.

I agree that the film/TV get judged on its own merits, but I disagree that it's a new universe. If they're going to completely go off track from the books, they may as well just have paid Martin for the right to rip off his idea, and then just created a show not titled Game of Thrones.

You should be. I say we start a Kickstarter to hire a lawyer to sue that guy for the money we paid to see the movie, and the time we spent watching it. Let's sue Lucas as well. That guy needs to give back all the money made off of those terrible movies.
