[OT] What kind of dog do you have?

So I'm curious as to what everyone here has. You got a dog? Tell us about it!

Pugs rock. I have a pug- it's actually my girlfriend's, but we live together- and she's the coolest sweetest dog ever. Pugs are high-maintenance- Maggie has skin problems and an easily-upset stomach, and we have to put drops in her eyes- but she's totally worth it.

I highly recommend a pug as long as you don't live in a super hot climate, you're willing to put in the effort, and you understand that they are not super active dogs.

Two Nova Scotia Duck Tolling retrievers (Tollers for short.) Year round swimmers with magic duck attracting powers; how can you go wrong?

Pick a breed. I have it. :D

Seriously, I am the proud owner of 10 little bundles of furry joy. (No, I don't own Piratecat.)

I own
3 Cocker Spaniels
2 Pekingeses
1 Poodle
1 Shih-tzu
1 Peke-a-poo (Pekingese-Poodle Mix)
1 Siamese Mix Cat

...and one stray Golden Labrador Retriever, whose owner we know, but who gave up coming to collect his ****ing dog about two years ago. So, we own her in all but name.

Of them all, if you own an apartment, I HIGHLY recommend a pekingese. They are the most emotionally self-sufficent dogs I have ever owned, they are very playful, VERY smart, very gregarious, and are not the type who like to jump on you and lick you in the face all the time. They are also very alert, and will wake you up if they hear an unfamilair noise, making them good "watchdogs." (Just not very good guard dogs - they're not built for that.)

I acccepted the Peke as my "signature" pet a long time ago - it is to me the ideal dog as a pet.

One thing I forgot to attach: The shots of pekingese love!

These two are mine. The left one (the biscuit colored one) is my Tribble (don't laugh! :D), and the right one (the white one) is my Angel.

In D&D stats, Tribble has an INT of 3 (a friggin' puppy rocket scientist), and Angel's distinguishing characteristic is her Alignment of Neutral Greedy.

Rawr, I just recently had 2 German Shepards, but they both passed away within the last year or so.

Currently I have 2 Rottweilers and 1 Bulldog (He's so little and cute :) ) A bulldog would be good for an apartment. They arent too hyper and they are very cuddly!

My mom's allergic to doghair, so I had two small poodles growing up--they were both pretty rough and tumble, and must have thought they were actually great danes.

Both lived till around 18 years; and, though they've been gone for over 10 years, I still find myself missing them terribly on occasion.

I can't wait till I get out of this apartment so I can get my dream dog...

A German Wirehaired Pointer named Henry.

LOL! I know that feeling. ;) I'm about to reclaim part of my yard this spring, for a koi pond (I'm thinking 15'x25'x4' deep) and will be adding a 750 gallon aquarium in the basement.
