D&D 5E [IC] Creamsteak's Storm King's Thunder: Triboar

"I think I can push them back! Cover your ears!!" Gul exclaimed, as, hidden in the darkness, he moved up to Koldan. Using all of his skill and with great care, he summoned a wave of force that engulfed both the magmins and Koldan. Blinded in the darkness, Koldan did not realise it, but a tiny ripple in the Weave left him unscathed from the effects of the evocation.

Everyone, inside the darkness and outside, heard the massive boom!

OOC:
Note: Gul will cast Shield with a warlock slot as a reaction if he is hit by an attack (+5 to AC)
I hope this works, Jago, and doesn't cause Koldan any damage!!

Creamsteak, ruling please:-) Thunderwave description says failed save causes damage and pushes creature, not causes damage then pushes creature. So I am hoping any explosions will not catch Koldan, as they will explode after being pushed back. This makes sense to me in story terms too, as the force from the thunderwave effectively acts as shield around Koldan! Would you agree?

Move: DC140
Action: cast Thunderwave to catch all the remaining Magmins, using Sculpt Spells to exclude Koldan (and Uric, if necessary). Con save DC 14 please, or [roll0] thunder damage and pushed 10 feet away.

If all magmins dead, keep moving to DE137.

I'd have allowed them to be knocked back then pop, but alas this time they both manage to save and only take 3 damage.

Also things are dark for a lot of people now.

~ The crack of thunder nearly popped Koldan's eardrums, the ringing ceasing to go away even as he gathered his senses to him. Though the light had been suddenly snuffed, the ranger kept his cool, even when he realized that his eyes could not pierce the veil of night. Curious ... The Old Elf had trained his sight to ignore such impediments, but whatever sorcerous display he was exposed to was clearly more powerful than his own eagle eyes. Still, he had his senses enough to remember where the Magmin were, calling out to any others that could still hear after such a thunderous blast.

" To the right from me! Right from me, stab!"

With that, he stepped to the side as Darathra heard the call, trying to stumble her way forward and raising her sword. Koldan, for his part, zeroed in on where he knew 2 of the creatures to be, blindly plugging away with his crossbow while the leader of The Twelve hollered and swung her mighty blade to try and finish off these distractions. ~

Apparently the crossbow even hits things you can't see quite well. Pop and pop. Then a pop from the sword attack.

12, 7, 11 damage on the bursts left to right, not everyone gets hit by all of them..

Koldan (pass, pass, fail) - 20 fire damage.
Uric (none, pass, fail) - 13 fire damage.
Gul (pass, fail, pass) - 18 fire damage.
Ilshana (pass, none, none) - 6 fire damage.
Narth (pass, pass, pass) - 14 fire damage.
Darathra (none, none, pass) - 5 fire damage.

That was unusually complicated.

OOC: Holy Lathander I had no clue these things would hurt that bad ._. I am so sorry team, I thought we'd be looking at just a few more scratches!

OOC:
Er, Gul passed two saves but still takes 24 damage!?

Also Jago, I don't think you had disadvantage overall, since the magmins were also blinded and therefore granted advantage, cancelling each other out..I think

In theory I guess it would be three different concentration checks, but I'm not overly worried about it here. In theory I would also just roll them, but there's always so many details to potentially miss.
