OOC: Thanks! Lets wrap things up clockwise. So lets exlore nthe nrthwest, then go to the northeast, to fininsh south. So door at M29, with the trolls first.

The walls of this chamber are carved with stone friezes. They depict dwarven merchants leading trains of mules or giant lizards burdened with heavy packs through immense caverns. In the center of the chamber, a wide stairway leads down into darkness. At the top of the stairs stands a hunched, insectoid creature with a two-tined pitchfork.

The insectoid creature asks you three questions.

"What do you serve?"

"What are you?"

"What lies below?"

The trolls ponder and scratch themselves.

Thaliss answers: "Ourselves, seekers of power, power". He waits to see what the creature does.

OOC: no sure what kind of roll would be expected, but bluff, persuasion and intimidation are all at the same modifier [roll0]

FYI, Carradoc was in need of healing, and I'm assuming Maighan took cakre of that before we came here
 


Kubeba grins mirthlessly at his new party, these trolls would be handy in a scrap. This insect creature looked like a challenge but the others had to go through their talking phase before they could attack. He started thinking about the edible scorpions and giant spiders from home and wondered if this creature would have the same succulent white meat.

He licked his lips at the memory, a grin on his face.
 

OOC: Some update of current status:

Carradoc is dow to HP 4, down from 51. It's not clear to me if the last fireball went off, or if I used polymorph -- the offer of a redo cam right at the end of combat. With the fireball, his spells would be at 3/3/1/1. With Polymorph, they'd be 3/3/2/0. I'll assume the latter unless I hear otherwise, and that he's no longer in crocodile form. Sorry for my confusion.


Carradoc greedily takes the scroll and hides it away in his haversack. Then he remembers. Right. He puts it in his bag instead.
 


OOC: Yes, I know! I'm sorry that isn't clear -- that's what Carradoc remembers -- that it was destroyed by the dragon turtle scheme, and he's back to carrying his backpack.
 

Maighan swiftly goes to Carradoc's side and invokes her most powerful healing magic in an attempt to keep him on his feet!
